1= The signifcator of the inquirer
2 = The other (Ex's) Significator
3 = Binding factors/Things which promote thier re-union/The good things about the relatioinship.
4 = The inquirers contributing factors to the Break Up (BU).
5 = Ex's contributing factors to the BU.
6 = Where you both stand at present (a reflection of the effects of 4+5).
7 = Internal obstacles which need to be overcome to resume the relationship (eg. things you need to change in yourself, things you feel they need to change in themselves).
8 = External obstacles to be overcome (eg. New partners, Distance, Family, Friends.... A court card here may indicate a particulary strong person who must be addressed).
9 = Outcome of reunion (what would happen if you successfully got back together, eg overcame the obstacles posed by 7 and 8).
10 = Chief spiritual lesson to be learnt from this relationship.

Briefly on the positions:

Left side = Things relating to the subject.
Right side = Things outside of the subject.
Position 9 (the outcome of reunion) is at the top and therefore most unstable/difficult to predict.
Position 10 is at the bottom because it has the deepest meaning.

Will I Get Back With My Ex Spread?

I just tried this spread (using the following layout which seemed to flow okay...) and it was, as my teenager would say: bangin'!

I may not have liked everything it told me; however, it truly seemed accurate and thoughtful, as well as thought-provoking.

I added the #7 card as Judylea suggested: "Is there a spiritual opportunity for this relationship?" and the Thoth Magus slipped right in there! Pretty good, I'd say.

I love the position meanings, but I changed the layout. I think this is a wonderful spread for finding out if a reunion is possible. Here are my changes:

Nice Spread! :)

I have a question, I am not to sure how to read the last card that came out, for the house:"What is the true potential of the relationship?", I had gotten the card of Justice. The rest of the cards were rather good and positive, but I just can't sum it all up with the last card. I have looked online and in books to get the meaning. But it just doesn't make sense. Also, for the sixth card, the competition/opposition, I had received the Queen of Pentacles, and I believe she symbolizes me, but it'd be my ex's competition, so I'm not sure. Seeing as the Queen is a female...Well I'm a little lost. So if anyone can help with the meaning of justice in the last house, and explain the Queen of Pentacles in it's house, that would be greatly appreciated.

As a professional reader, I often get clients asking if they will get back with their ex. I have previously used spread such as the horseshoe and celtic cross, but decided this time I ought to create my own!

So, here is the 'first draft':

How the relationship used to be –
What lead to the end of the relationship –
What was the most important lesson from the separation –
Where the relationship currently stands –
What are obstacles need to be overcome to renew the relationship –
What are the opportunities for you to focus on to facilitate a reunion –
What needs to change within you to facilitate the relationship –
What needs to change within your ex to facilitate the relationship –
What is the true potential for the relationship in the future –

I would be interested in your feedback. Any ideas on additional cards to use? My preference is to focus less on the other person's feelings (as this enters into a third party reading) and more on the client's feelings and what they can do within their power to help the relationship.

One gap currently is that what if the relationship is really not meant to be? Are there sufficient cards in this spread to identify this?

As for layout, I don't usually think too much about this! So, if you're a creative one, happy to take suggestions!

Think proved to be a VERY insightful spread, I'm definately putting it in my journal. I wonder if it could be modified to be read for a current relationship.

I'm new to the forum and tried this spread to see what was going on with me and my ex, but I'm having a bit of trouble coming up with the meaning of it. I was wondering if I could get an insight on it. I've tried using my books but just can't seem to pull it together. Thanks

I would add 2 other cards.... How person 1 feels about the relationship regenerating, and how person 2 feels about the relationship regenerating.

You'll definitely get a feel for if it's meant to be if you see one or both people viewing things as positive.
