Dark Angels -- 9 of Cups

My first reaction to the young lady in this card was that she is something of a temptress, but the LWB reminds me that even temptresses have a tragic tale to tell: “The broken-hearted invite love to return to comfort them in their despair.” The stairs at the back of the hall are a little more obvious than the stairs in the Magician…but where they are leading to is a little more obvious too!

I think, that the lady is not TOTALLY desperate, she is not lying on the bottom, she is still sitting. The lady crosses her arms, like she wants to protect herself. I wonder, what that thing at the wooden wall is, has anyone an idea?
