Buckland Romani-Death

Darkness surrounds a burning vardo. The Death figure looms over it. Once the vardo has been destroyed, there will be no sign that it ever existed. The transformation is a physical one, but it occurs in the darkness. This could be an internal transformation that someone experiences alone.

The book says that traditionally, when a Romany dies, his body and everything he owns is put into the vardo and is set on fire. The slate is wiped clean and no one ever speaks of him again. This could be applied to not looking back once we have made our transformations, but to keep our focus on moving forward.

When someone is/ was dying they were usually placed into a "bender wagon" or a tent. (same with giving birth, whee death is always close...)
The vardo was only burned, when a patriarch or the matriarch died.
To let such a treasure as a vardo go up in flames is had to think of in this materialistic society.
The card also reminds me, that material posessions are - -just that....
