1-In the French Tarot as a game all the cards has double figure.
2-So another reason to love ours TdM as unique my friends, different from this one.

reversals or not...?

Hi everybody,

I like the idea that the codes for using the TdM are in the cards themselves, (since there isn't any manual that came with it).
With this in mind, there seem to be at least two cards saying reversals have a signification: LE PENDU and LA MAISON DIEU. Especially Le Pendu. Being upside down for a while can be a very usefull experience.

For the record, I use only the Camoin-method and I nearly never use the minors.

i use the reversal as per Camoin/jodo method. however, i usually go with my intuition rather than set 'methods' that someone else invented. that is their way of intuitively seeing the cards, which makes my own intuitive way of seeing the cards as valid as anyone else.

cheers

yara

His deck is lovely, but I hate the back design, and the card stock is 'average'. I like my card stock heavy duty like the Piatnik or the Grimaud.

I have to disagree with Mel (though I bow and scrape to his superior knowledge!) on the cardstock. I'm finding that the cardstock of the Hadar is perfect for my smaller hands. On the backs? Well, it is quite a busy, non-traditional back, but I think it works.

Not sure of too many folks that use reversals with TdM. Some of the cards are both horizontally and vertically symetrical so without 'marking' your deck, it would be difficult to do.

TdM Tarot author Corinne Morel has an interesting way of dealing with this. She assigns upright meanings and reversal meanings for pip cards that are reversible, while having only a single set of meanings for pip cards that aren't reversible. (She conveniently ignores the fact that some TdM decks may have copyright symbols on the front or back of the cards that could aid in determining whether or not a card is upright.)
