HudsonGray...thank you SO much for doing my work! I'm sorry. I did go looking for that one online Tarot mag that was available for reading as a PDF file, but to no avail. I was really thinking more of glossy mags at the store, devoted to the Tarot. When I win the lotto (please note that I do not play the game), the big jackpot, I want to open Totally Tarot store, and since I will have more money than I can spend, will create a wonderful magazine at a loss, just so everyone has something to read in the john. I'll be like William Randolph Hearst in "Citizen Kane." I won't care if it loses money.

Now I'd best learn to read the Tarot so I can tell when is a good time to play a ticket. ;)

AHA! This is it...an online tarot publication I had been looking for, called "Manteia Courier." It is available for reading on the www. artoftarot.com website. Thanks!!!

Some additional background: the Manteia Courier file available at Tarot Passages was the final issue of Manteia magazine. Its inception was in 1989, and it subsequently ceased publication after 16 issues (and two "Courier" editions that followed) in 1998, due to rising costs and low subscribership. Although considered an essential collectors' reference, sadly no more back issues of the magazine remain available for sale, according to K. Frank Jensen, noted international tarot authority and the magazine's publisher.

Thanks for this sad information, Jeanette. I guess that's why the deities invented E-Bay (for back issues) and second jobs (to pay for E-Bay)...

Unfortunately, Ophiel, Frank Jensen mentioned in an e.mail that:
  • Recently a complete set was offered at e-bay and sold for the price of US$1500 (!). Shortly after another set was listed for auction but it reached "only" about US$500.
They may be worth their weight in gold, but this may very well be an instance where Kessinger Press is called for!

On the other hand, as an aside, he has also recently mentioned that he is working on a book... which I am sure will contain much of value from his magazine entries.

But...Kessinger only touches old, uncopyright protected material, so we might be in for a long wait, JMD!

A Tarot magazine would be wonderful! I'm sure the idea has occurred to someone. As to why it hasn't happened so far?
Perhaps they did a divination and saw it wasn't in the cards.

But if any of you find any links to online Tarot 'zines, I would be very grateful.
