The Four Suits of the Tarot of the Witches
The four suits in this Tarot are Batons, Swords, Cups and Coins.
Interestingly Fergus Hall has illustrated their elements in a rudimentary way and perhaps we could discuss that further.
Batons
Element: Fire
Represented as Clubs in an ordinary deck of playing cards.
Fergus Hall has provided a central image on each pip depicting a fist "clubbing" a stick to break.
Keywords: inspiration, creativity, energy, action.
An action in progress or the results of the output of energy.
Swords
Element: Air
Represented as Spades in an ordinary deck of playing cards.
Here Hall provides a central figure on each pip of a foot with wings flying over a landscape.
Keywords: thought, rationality, intellectual powers, decisions.
Often these pips depict a conflict or struggle because much of the turmoil in our lives can be attributed to our thoughts.
Cups
Element: Water
Represented by Hearts in an ordinary deck of playing cards.
Hall aptly provides a central figure of a heart with an arrow through it.
Keywords: emotion, feelings, relationships.
Coins
Element: Earth
Represented by Diamonds in an ordinary deck of playing cards.
Interestingly Hall has provided a central figure of an eye above a landscape of a valley with a river running through and a flame ascended over the eye.
Keywords: practicality, work, money, material comfort, business.
