I was poking around looking at the various "druid" style decks and while reading about the Druidcraft saw that it has a lot of nudity in it. I didn't find any photos, but some people were put off by those images. Does the Wildwood have any nudity? If so, how is it portrayed? Thanks! __________________ Karen and her hounds creating art ~ creating a new life |

There is no real nudity in this deck. By that I mean, no bare breasts or genitals. There are two figures not wearing clothes, but they do not have visible 'bits'. (The cards are 19 The Sun of Life and 16 The Blasted Oak). __________________ One Deck Wonder - Tarot of the Sidhe and Froud Faeries' Oracle - Beltane to Summer Solstice 2013 |

The nudity in the Blasted Oak is a particular type of nudity. Think *all over* flesh-coloured-lycra-body-suit-nudity. But there is no Wildwood equivalent of the Druid Craft Hanged Man (which, for the record, I always liked...) |

Five of Bows is described as empowerment
In the WW this is a white outline figure referred to as Cerne Abbas Giant as an ancient emblem of fertility and keyword as empowerment. In the 1990 Arthurian the three of stones has a similar masuline figure in chalk. Both are etched figures holding a tool or implement, upright in their hands, and are outlined without much facial detail. The outlined abstract figure includes an erect phallus, so one knows it is masculine. It probably might take me a bit to fold these into a reading, as I have not an art history background with those images. However some men friends into art symbolism and liking other masculine symbolism have used this as part of their personal expressive art. [QUOTE=karen0205]Could one please explain this card to me???? Which should also be relevant to GryffinSong's question about nudity... |

I know I said I liked the white borders, but I have been messing with this deck for days, and I am now sorely tempted to trim top and sides. Should I? Shouldn't I? oooh! __________________ One Deck Wonder - Tarot of the Sidhe and Froud Faeries' Oracle - Beltane to Summer Solstice 2013 |

One of my cards has a stain on the white border (2 of Cups?) and I think that trimming would make it look better, colours and all. However, I'd be worried about getting the bottom "title" bit right. Plus I feel it isn't a deck I shall be using much and so I shall leave it as it is... |

On the scans alone, this deck looks exciting to consider during winter in Australia. I'm looking at its structure as a Tarot deck created by two people who had association with another deck. For now, that's as much as I need AND want to apply to the deck Good words, Nina!! ![]() GMB __________________ FEAR NAUGHT Keeper of The Sacred Secrets |
