EDIT: Whoops, wrong topic.....don't know how that happened That said, I'm hoping to receive the invoice for the Wildwood soon. It looks really nice and it will be interesting to see how it reads. The Greenwood is my all-time favorite deck and in my eyes nothing can ever compare to, replace or outdo it. Still, I'm willing to ignore the similarities and treat it as a separate deck. I got the deck, and I really like it so far. The artwork has a definite sense of place and I find it easy to imagine myself entering many of the cards. It also reminds me of Robert Holdstock's books http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mythago_Wood which I really want to re-read. The package is a good solid box with two plastic wells for the cards, the book fits on top. I shall probably keep the set together like that and swap the plastic for a bag when I get around to buying one. When I was mixing the cards, the 9 of Bows "Respect" jumped out. I think that's a great card with which to approach any new deck, and it seems to fit this one. ETA: Actually, for me the biggest difference in the Greenwood and the Wildwood artwork is that the Wildwood feels rooted in this world, with the "otherworld" peeking through, whereas the Greenwood feels on a different plane and not of this world at all. __________________ Member of SOOD Keeper of the Sacred Wish Lists Sacred Historian Protector of Malteser Bunnies Last edited by Aerin; 29-04-2011 at 02:01. |

I just did my first reading with it last night and am waiting for feedback from the recipient to see how well it read... or how well the cards i drew fit with what she sees. Since it is new and different, I went by my thoughts on the cards and then added info from the book. I am liking this deck more all the time... and the insights from the book even more. As for Greenwood, I saw comparison scans of each deck laid side by side and if I had the opportunity to choose between owning a Greenwood or a Wildwood... I'd go with the Wildwood. The artistry is more appealing to me... but that is me and my aesthetics. __________________ If you can't be a good example - - then you will just have to be a horrible warning |

Did those of you who ordered directly from Will Worthington get some goodies in the package. Like a signed card or something? Just wondering because my package from Will W. came today and there was nothing extra inside, not even a signed card. I paid more for it than for my first deck that came from amazon ages ago. So I was kinda expecting to get this more expensive book & deck signed by the artist if nothing else. I´m disappointed.. __________________ It is not easy to be sure that being yourself is worth the trouble, but we do know it is our sacred duty. -F.Scott-Maxwell |

I ordered mine from the book depository. It was about $26 Aussie dollars. Free shipping. Amazon has it on special for $10USD, but the shipping to Australia was going to kill me. As an aside, I have been completely satisfied with the service at the Book Depository and will recommend them to anyone! I adore the deck! The deck is a normal size and I can shuffle it! No more oversized Druidcraft cards! The book is great also. It's a normal book size. In terms of the product, it has a cheap feel, but it takes nothing away from the readings imho. This will be my regular deck. Last edited by BlueMistReasoning; 29-04-2011 at 18:21. Reason: grammar |
