Who is the doctor?

Bronwyn1

What court card would represent a doctor? I've have king of swords before,..what about the king of cups?

I have often seen the King of Swords come up as a surgeon and the King of Cups as more of a GP or counsellor in my readings, although I could understand the King of Swords as a psychiatrist, too (Swords=Thought Processes.)

The Magician has come up for me as a specialist, and I have also gotten the Queen of Swords and Queen of Cups as doctors, as well.

And I don't do medical/health readings. :D Go figure.

The Hierophant can be a doctor too.

I would think it would depend on the specialty. for example if you want a GP or Gastro would be the Queen/King of Pents, a psychologist would be the Queen/King of Cups, a Physiotherapist would be the Queen/King of Wands and a Psychiatrist would be the Queen/King of Sword.

ETA Hierophant would be the hospital.

Le Fanu

Id go for King of Swords...

I agree that the Hierophant would be more for the "institution"

I'm having some "issues" and the king of cups keeps appearing. My GP is a rather calm counselling type so yes, I'd see him as that.

I could see the Hierophant for either the hospital or the doctor...or the whole of the medical community and its "teachings/diagnoses."

For hospital or institution, I have, on more than one occasion, drawn the combination of the Four of Swords and the Ten of Pentacles.

(((Bronwyn1))) Hope you get things sorted out quickly and painlessly.

I've had Hierophant come up as a doctor, that's why I mentioned it. But hospital would fit too.

Bronwyn, hope your issues clear up. A King of Cups as a doctor sounds just right - I have one of those too :)

10 of pents is in there too, what does that mean?? Ya, I need to get to the doctor,...I just know he'll tell me to come back in 3 weeks or whatever so I'll just grin and bear it for 3 weeks and then go in, well,...if I can.

thank-you ((((SSN))))

The Ten of Pents can also mean that you will be referred to someone else (in my experience) or it can mean that your "problem" stems from genetics or runs in the family (or is otherwise family-oriented in some way.)
