I wouldn't mind the priest or the construction worker but the clown would be a bit too much. Ahem... off topic. The card could also mean the lover will give everything they can because they're very experimental when it comes to love (yes, even fetishes or some of that yoga stuff that bends you in impossible positions) - they're truly the master of pleasure. They know what they're doing and they know what you'll like. They enjoy sex and they make their partner feel really, really great.

Of course, the above interpretation could also remind you that although this person knows it all, is a master/mistress in pleasing, you should only pick those things that feel comfortable to you and leave the others beside - just take the priest and the construction worker, don't touch the clown... unless you have a thing for clowns, of course.

The 3 of Pentacles guy is looking for approval from his peers or superiors. He might go bragging later "Look what I did."

The first thought that jumped to my mind when I saw the question was that he might expect his partner to do all the work while he admired it.

But if we take the partner to be the "craftsman" then wouldn't he also feel that partner was better at such things than he, an artist, a genius?

What came to my mind was that this is someone pragmatic enough about such things that it would be a good idea to use the Three Lists. That's something that comes out of the s/m community, but needn't be connected with that sort of sex at all.

As Carol Queen explained it in a September 11, 2003 advice column on her website: So before you get into a conversation with your lover muddled up by your own uncertainly and inexperience, make three lists: one of things you know you like or are sure you’d like to try; one of things you might want to do; and one of those things that you know you aren’t interested in. After you’ve talked to your partner about wanting to try some things, have her make a list like that also. The lists clarify what’s most important to you erotically, and also what your limits are so obviously, when you’ve made your list and she’s made hers, the first order of business is figuring out what matches up. Even if there are things on your Yes list that are on her No list, look for the Yeses and Maybes that you share.

That sort of pragmatism is very coins-like, and you have the three's of the lists, plus the three that is the two sets of lists and the agreed-upon list they give birth to. That A+B=C thing is an image widely associated with the three's, in my experience.

So I suppose that lines me up with Azarial's "Team effort kind of thing." But some folks actually do find it pretty exciting to share their favorites and their curiosities. And most lovers would rather hear "I hate being scratched," before things start, rather than after they've scratched lovey's back So, though that part's not so exciting, skipping it could be even more un-exciting.

Well I tend to have my own personal way or reading. LOL I tend to refer the numbers of the cards back to the MA card of the same number. So 3-The Empress (caring, sharing, being nurturing...) And Pents to me are life goals and sometimes the work needed to achieve them.

SO....to me the 3 of Pents as a lover would be someone whose main goal in lovemaking is the sharing between the two people and just caring for his partner and making sure they are happy and all their needs are met...very unselfish as a lover, concerned more with making his lover happy then with his own needs...

There is my take, such as it is, because I know most people do not use my method to read....

Good one, SunChariot, and here I was going to add, that a 3 Pents lover would be a novice, still learning , needing guidance and supervision to perfect technique.

I tend to agree with Babs, that this person wants to make his/her partner sexually satisfied, to work as a team, taking advice from the partner..making their sexually experience a masterpiece.

Great question!!

I'm concerned about those people who are observing? Would you consider them to be his sexual partners then?
