Klimt Tarot Study - 4 of Wands

w0ndrfulelectr1c

This card shows a woman, draped in a blue blanket or gown, partially nude. She rests her head on her sleeping child who she holds in her arms. Just this aspect of the image drips with maternal instinct.
Wands/fire symbolizes creation. What more important creation is there than that of a child?

Fours symbolize structure. Fire is life. Four of wands, therefore, would be life energy given a tangible form, in a child.

The image is from the "Three Ages of Woman" and shows the first two. Mother and Maiden (of mother, maiden, crone). The crone appears in the 10 of wands.

Any other thoughts anyone? Not quite sure where to take this one beyond this.
