I have! I love this deck (obs; avatar!), but Im not your best guide on this one. What I love about the deck is the artwork, but Im a bit - letīs say - selective about my use of the cards. I tend to use the zodiac cards as significators, depending on the querent (so basically, the other 11 donīt appear in the reading)

The elements cards I either take out (I know, shocking isnīt it; how dare I call it a Minchiate) or hope they donīt turn up. If they do, I suppose it would mean an excess of that element in my life. Or something. I know it is very wrong of me to transform the deck into something not-quite-minchiate, but each to his own and if I waited until I was fully versed in these cards, Id hardly use it. And the thing is I love this deck. I love the artwork. I have two copies and it is one I get out very often.

Ive read Williamsī divinatory meanings and - to be honest - I donīt fnd them that enlightening, so I tend to go with common sense r.e the elements.

But itīs a stunning deck.

weirdly, I found THREE copies in the space of a year (the Lo Scarabeo one). One on a flea market, and two others in (different) 2nd hand bookshops. Then I traded one of them with thin buddha, but plan to keep the spare...

It has been out of print for a while and isnīt very easy to find.
If anything, it is marginally more common in Europe than in the USA. I see it ocassionally in Spain...

The Il Meneghello version of the deck is easily available at Alida.

Thatīs true. I was thinking of the Scarabeo version and the Meneghello slipped my mind. But then so many people buy Meneghello decks and worry about using them. The Scarabeo one is just laminated enough to be protected. Has a lovely texture.

Have a look at the index in the Marseilles & Other Early Decks forum, (post 5):

http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=31857

A few of us read with this deck, and I know there are posts in those threads which discuss the extra cards and the Emperors/Grand Dukes. This was a really happy time for me, discovering these decks. I unfortunately traded a few away but still have the Fiorentine.

I'd like to revive this thread with a question: what is the difference between the Etruria and the Fiorentine? Is there a difference?
