When to use pair cards and/or not?

Hi Sylvie and other lenormand card learners....

I would like to know, as I noticed in your book Sylvie, that although you show combinations with meanings. eg Ship + (10) Child. You do not show how these are used in a spread.

When you do the examples you only do the singular meanings. So, when do we know when to actually use the "pairs" in a reading?
