Tarosophist International #4 Thoth Special (September 1st 2009)

The fourth issue of Tarosophist International will be published as scheduled on 1st September 2009. This is a special annual issue and is now running to about 100 pages of quality material from the world's leading Tarot and Thoth/Crowley authors, including Rachel Pollack, Mary K. Greer, Lon Milo DuQuette and Dr. Richard Kaczynski, author of Crowley's most recent biography.

The magazine also contains an entire illustrated history of the printing of the deck (featured elsewhere in Aeclectic), an Aleister Crowley Timeline, guides to learning the deck, a full review of all Thoth handbooks since the original Book of Thoth was published, a comprehensive account of the Egyptian deities and their meanings in the deck, an encounter of Death using the Thoth deck ... and much more!!!

This is free as a download to all members of Tarot Professionals, and available to non-members at cost in both download (colour cover, colour internal) and print versions (colour cover, B&W internal). Hello All

On the last day before printing, we have received an incredible article by Dr. Richard Kaczynski, author of the best biography on Crowley, "Perdurabo: The Life of Aleister Crowley".

This article is a 14-page fully illustrated piece entitled "The Thoth Deck and the Western Esoteric Tradition" and makes this issue complete.

As the magazine now comes in at around 140 pages (!!!) we'll certainly be releasing it as a hardback annual special.

Just a brief note; the Lulu site which provides the printing of Tarosophist International, following an "upgrade" this morning, has "lost" a number of the "storefronts" for clients - including mine! You won't currently see the magazine(s) for sale. They're working on it and it's out of my control, but be assured they'll be made to pay for this wonderful timing!!!

We decided that given the work which went into this issue, and its length, we would offer it only as a hardback print version to non-members. However, as we still have our "Facebook Year 2" promotion, you could consider joining us this month, at ANY rate you wish to pay for your first year, and not only get this issue as a download, but the previous three issues, and our next 3-4 issues in your membership year!!!

Hello All

Just a final word from me on this special issue of Tarosophist International, and then we move onto our next issue for December 1st 2009, based on the work of Palladini/Aquarian Tarot & a RWS Retrospective.

The Hardback copies of the magazine arrived with me today and quite frankly, they rock! I was so worried leaving it to the last minute, that if there was anything wrong with the printing, others would be receiving "bad copies" at the same time I was, leaving it too late to do anything. This is the joy of working to tight deadlines, impossible schedules and print-on-demand!

But the magazine looks fine - better than fine! I can't think of any equivalent "magazine" I've seen - this is more like a book, given the quality of the contributions. So, I've attached a photo so you can judge a little for yourselves! There's a slightly better one on our Facebook group.

And don't forget, until September 29th 2009, you can get the download versions of all our issues - and next years, with full membership of Tarot Professionals for ANY PRICE YOU WANT TO OFFER!!! Just e-mail me!
