Crystal Question?

When I was little, like kindergarten aged, I found a crystal that was a quartz.I have had this rock ever since,nearing 20 years.I am just curious if people always have this link to a crystal,and what it could mean.

there are many kinds of quartz's and they have diff meaning. what does it look like? do you have a picture of it?

i don't have a picture of it, its shaped like a gun and the entire thing isn't clear.Not sure what isn't clear just because of age, dirt or what. It looks kind of like the below picture, somewhat if part of one of the things that is sticking up was torn off and looked somewhat like a gun. not exact but best i can find without scanning.

I've always liked to collect smooth stones, especially white quartz pebbles. Even before I really got interested in crystals, I'd usually have a round pebble in my jacket pocket just to fiddle with. Not sure if that's quite what you're asking... I think there are things you just have an affinity with.
