Call me a freak, but the Deviant Moon makes me feel at home.

Indeed! This attraction also caused me to like another deck that is slightly similar in theme, The Tarot of the Sweet Twilight.

Plus, I love how Patrick Valenza networks with his audience, much like how some other artsists do (Baba-Studio; Lisa Hunt to name a few).

And, I adore The World card .

Yeah, & The Hermit is my soul card. I am starting to kinda like this deck, it is giving me excellent readings (what does that really MEAN, anyway?) but that Hermit...I just don't know. I'll have to drag the book out, which I haven't done. The more I use the deck, the more I really like it. Perhaps a lot. In the future.

I really like the Pents! I'm on my 3rd flip through the deck and the number of cards that make me squirm drops with each successive view.

ETA: after 5 flips through the deck, there's only 1 that jars me.
The Hermit ~ As bleak as the landscape looks, this Being is more frightened of something inside a building? And has no power to stop itself from peeking?

Wow. Totally not what the LWB describes.

I had the same sort of parallel with the Deviant Moon and the Sweet Twilight. I just got the latter, recently, and was fooling around with it at work this morning. Noticing some intangible similarities, I had them both out, and what a cool universe to play in Did a lot of unscheduled readings for people who were just sort of swarming around, attracted to all the surreal color on the table in front of me. (I don't work in any kind of metaphysical setting, it was at "day job" work, which is even more surprising).

^ NJ !

And, that's awesome. I had a similar experience with the Cruel Thing last week...

I love the colors in both the Deviant Moon and Sweet Twilight. The imaginary world is fun, and full if archetypes just like anything else. Sometimes, I just don't want to see people in the cards I use; give me anything else .

I love the color palette used in the Deviant Moon from the beginnning.

When I first saw the pictures of the DM when it was released, I knew that I liked the way it looked. It was dark, twisted and very comfortable to me (I've lived an odd life, what can I say). I waited until I couldn't wait any longer, and I ordered the DM a week ago. I got it today.

I knew I would like it, but before I get to how much I like it, let me give you a disclaimer: I'm not one of those romantic people that get all mushy during commercials with smiling kids and angels and butterflies and whatever else. I don't like stuff like that. It gives me gas. So when I'm truly touched by something, it's a big deal.

To me, this deck is a very big deal.

I very nearly cried when I held this deck in my hands because it wasn't a pack of cardstock with ink and lamination. This deck spoke to me right out of the wrapper.

My sister wanted to know if I would do a reading for her with the DM once I got the deck in the post.. but I don't know if I'm going to do that. For the first time, I have a deck that I want to be selfish with. I don't want to share this deck that I have connected with. Maybe after a couple of weeks or months or years.. but for now, this is just mine. I want to immerse myself in the stark and yet embellished beauty that is Deviant Moon.

Thumbs up

I bought this deck a while back hoping it would grow on me and I wouldn't feel so "creeped out." Didn't work!

Until last week... I was visiting my mother and decided to have a little fun with my DM. I pulled three cards for "Insight into tomorrow." I pulled the 5 of Cups, 2 of Cups, and then 3 of Cups. What tickled me was the 5 of Cups. The woman pointing and yelling at the man with cups spilled and his tongue hanging out while putting his finger in his ear. I started laughing and said to my mom, "Gee that looks like me and my boyfriend whenever he goes out with his friends!"

I hadn't heard from him in a while so I txted him. No response. He's out drinking with his friends. I was surprised the city was still standing! I figure I'd go to bed. Leave him a voicemail telling him I loved him and if he got into trouble... he'd stay in jail cause I need my sleep.

The next morning I listen to a drunken voicemail saying, "I love crown woo! Miss you! I'm not in jail! Love you!" Without hesitation I called him back and let him have it. I walked into the living room and down at my DM deck. Those three cards were still laying out. Man where they ever right! I totally acted like that woman pointing and yelling and realized that those weren't spilled cups. They were drank! 2 of Cups referred to me realizing that he's a redneck but I love him. 3 of Cups told me nothing went wrong. Just a bunch of rednecks out for a good time.

Been reading with DM ever since

LMBO, The Deviant Moon can be pretty Mystical.

Then we're two freaks ! I am inlove with this deck. They are my friends, and not a day goes by that I don't hold them in my hands.

I looked at the Deviant Moon images online, and really liked them. I've ordered a copy. I particularly like the Ace of Wands and the Five of Pentacles. There is something very direct about it, as if it bypasses the thinking mind. It is a thoughtful piece of work. Normally, I relate to a Tarot image in a particular way that I have developed, but with these images, I can't - I have to start again.
