After looking over the deck for ages, I have made the choice to buy them. They do appeal to me in someway, and I enjoy the morbid edge it has XD __________________ My tree bares strange fruit. Share, and share alike. - Eris |

I like the style of the artwork and the creativity of the author. I do find the artwork to be on the creepy side, but that's me. I have never done a reading with it. I really think that one needs to be aware of who one is reading for when one selects a deck. If I person had never had their cards read before and was nervous and apprehensive I think I would stay away from "dark" decks (although this one is tame compared to other "dark" decks) and stick with a more traditional one. If the person were unconventional I think this one would be a good selection. As for myself, I wouldn't use it for myself if I was not in a positive frame of mind. I was in on the development phase of this deck back when the author was creating it here on the AT forums. Patrick, the author, mentioned he was going to do a sequel that was supposed to be the counter balance to this deck having a more optimistic tone. I would be interested to know how that was going or if the project has gotten off the ground. |

Well I don't know if everyone knows this, there are images of old tomb stones integragrated into all the cards. On a subconscious level it may bother some people, remind them of their own mortality, so that could explain some of the reactions other than just the surreal images themselves. |

I this deck. Wish I could find it creepy! When I want something very RWS, I reach for this one. It's probably the most RWS-y one I read with. Beautiful deck. Such rich colours & imagination! |

Sometimes I'm compelled to grasp the "dark side"
Well, OK, the deck isn't really all that dark. I looked at the images of the deck right after it came out and decided that it was really creepy and dark. I met someone in another area online who had immediately purchased it and absolutely loved it. Since then I've looked over the images again and again and finally I could take it no longer and purchased it. It's not so creepy at all. In fact, I think the artist has quite the sense of humor. What other deck has the figure in the Five of Swords sticking his or her tongue out at "the losers"? I agree with many in this thread that it may not speak to everyone. Art, like beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder. |

Oh, btw, I forgot to mention that there are also images of a closed insane asylum imbedded in some of the pictures. I agree that the deck does have a sense of humor and the art is beautifully rendered. That having been said, I can understand that some people feel "uneasy" about it. The world of the Deviant Moon Tarot is inhabited by a strange cast of characters who are sort of like the inhabitants of Bosch's hell paintings. No light or happiness can shine upon their dark world, it speaks to the spirits of those living I poverty and despair who can't see the beauty or light of life. |

This deck has a Tim Burton feel to it, which I love! Is it weird that I don't think this is creepy... but almost cute? :o This is definitely going in my wishlist, although I don't think I'll be buying this in the near future (I've already spent too much on new decks this month haha). And the hidden imagery, as Tomsde pointed out, is really intriguing. __________________ We're just a million little gods causing rainstorms and turning every good thing to rust. |

I find the way the eyes have been drawn is creepy but the main reason I've never thought of getting the deck is because I don't like the artwork. When the deck was first mentioned on AT, I was excited especially about the gravestone and insane asylum backdrops but when I saw the first cards posted I knew it wouldn't be for me but I'm glad that it does have readers who do use and love it. __________________ # # Emily # # ----------------------------------- A good student never stops learning Having fun with the Liber T |
