I agree with you, and I am also using the Bohemian Gothic right now. I find that the Victoria Regina is extremely revealing in may layers, quite like a shadow deck, which is what I am using the BG as along with my Victorian Romantic.

I just love it!

Heh, my best friend was laughing at me today because I'm a bit of an anglophile, (Darn those regency period romance novels!) and she was saying that the deck is perfect for me. I kept reading bits of the book to them for different cards, even from their decks.

It's an interesting point about it being very layered- one of the people I read for said that the deck was very "personal".

eta: It's not just the fault of the romance novels; there's also Terry Pratchett, Dr. Who, Monty Python, Are You Being Served, Fawlty Towers, Top Gear, and on, and on...

YES! I'm the same way. BTW, I'm not too sure about this new Dr. I'm going to miss David Tennant! I love all things English.

I wish Flaminica would come back and tell us if she/he has the self published deck. I had no idea there was such a thing...

Sorry about that. I was away for a couple of days.

I went and pulled my book off the shelf to check. I misjudged the age a bit. My VR is the Llewellyn 1st edition, dated 2002. The cards are printed in Italy. Has anyone else seen the issue with the varying levels in the darkness of the ink, or did I get a bum deck?

I agree - the VR courts are inspired. They are easy to read, especially for an anglophile or history buff.

I personally am still crying over Christopher Eccleston, although I do love David Tennant too. The new Dr. looks like he's 12! I figure I'll give him a chance, though.

I was in Cost Plus the other day and found myself in the aisle with the Devon cream, scone mix, Spotted Dick, and lemon curd. I about fainted from joy.

I am actually pretty surprised with myself that I've let the VR languish on my shelf for so long! I feel like I've just found a diamond ring hiding in my flour jar or something.

Let's all take our Regina's to London and sit in a park with our scones and clotted cream! Doesn't that sound lovely?

I loved Christopher Eccleston too, but David was my favorite. That new boy is too young and it seemed like he was just trying to be David Tennant in that last scene when he changed. I'm gonna give him a shot too, but I have high expectations now.

Does anyone else just love the Chariot in this deck? The Moon is also my favorite.

I adore the moon! And I got a very different interpretation from it than I normally do, which was especially interesting because my group gets into heated debates about the Moon.

And Shhh! Don't spoil it for me, I haven't seen the end of Season 4 yet!

We've piqued your interest in it again. It is a gem of a deck!

Let's, in theory. I feel like I am being swept away to a different time when I look at the cards. Funny, I don't feel the same way when I work with my Victorian Romantic, and that's a FAVORITE!

I love The Moon, the Chariot, Strength (my favorite in the deck), The High Priestess (you really get the veiled/mysterious effect), Justice, Death, all of the Aces, 7 of Wands, Page (Princess) of Wands, 7 of Cups, 3 of Swords, 4 of Swords, 5 of Pentacles (Coins), and Page (Princess) of Swords.

I interpret it differently than I normally would too. She is literally being carried away and supported by the Moon, it's energy embracing her's and so forth. I'll stop..
