Blake Tarot ~ Alternate Numbering

rwcarter brought something fascinating to my attention today and I thought I should put it out there in the study group. Each of the majors - except 0 and 00 - Fool and Eternity have a little number in the upper right hand corner. Ordered from 1 -21 from these numbers:

1 - Energy (XI)
2 - Imagination (IX)
3 - Lightening (XVI)
4 - Experience (VII)
5 - Knowledge (VI)
6 - Transformation (XIII)
7 - Forgiveness (XIV)
8 - Reversal (XII)
9 - Moon (XVIII)
10- Error (XV)
11- Sun (XIX)
12- Stars (XVII)
13- Whirlwind (X)
14 - Union (XXI)
15 - Assessment (VIII)
16- Religion (V)
17 - Reason (IV)
18 - Liberty (XX)
19 - Mystery (II)
20 - Nature (III)
21 - Magic (I)

Any thoughts????

BC - I don't have the book to hand, but it does say in there that they're the borders from a set of illustrations that Blake did for . . . something with 21 bits.

I checked this line of enquiry and couldn't find any inherent significance - doesn't mean it's not there, though.

When I have more time (right, that's gonna happen) I'll get the book out and quote you the bit I'm thinking of

#1 and #21 are the same border. Seems strange that if that were the case why would the numbers not be the same? I'll see if I can find what you are referring to though...
