My Venus has a 33 next to and is in Pisces (it looks like by 26 degrees) and my Sun has a 26 next to it and its in Aries (by what looks to be like 15 degrees). Does that 26 mean my Sun is separated from Venus by 26 degrees (as its the planet preceding my Sun)? And that 33 means my Venus is separated from whatever planet preceded it? So I should marry at 26?
Or do I literally count the little lines (representing degrees) between the Venus and Sun in my chart. When I did that, though I got 20...and I know I must be doing that wrong because I'm 26 and I'm still not married.
From your description I think you are carrying out Dave's method properly. The figures by the planets are usually degrees AND minutes. Charts can be funny in the way these are printed, as charts are circular, yet you need to be able to read them relatively easily. From your description I'd take your Venus to be at 26 degrees 33 minutes of Pisces, and your Sun to be at 15 degrees 26 minutes of Aries. That would indeed be a separation of 19 degrees (20 if you've rounded to the nearest degree).
Lilly's rules for a woman are different from that for a man. You need to look at your chart (no calculations necessary) for:
The Sun: If your Sun is in houses 12, 11, 10 or 6, 5, 4 (Top left and bottom right) This is a sign you will marry early; however it is not the only one:
Repeat the process for Mars
Now look at the sign on the Seventh House (3 o'clock position) and identify it's ruler as follows:
Aries = Mars, Taurus = Venus, Gemini = Mercury, Camcer = Moon, Leo = Sun, Virgo = Mercury, Libra = Venus, Scorpio = Mars, Sagittarius = Jupiter, Capricorn = Saturn, Aquarius = Saturn, Pisces = Jupiter
Repeat the process for the planet you have selected above. again Top left and bottom right.
Finally look at the seventh house and see if there are any planets in it. Repet the process for them.
It's likely you will get a mixture of planets that are in those two sections of the chart and others that are not. What matters is the balance. If more of them fall into those two quadrants than are outside, then the chances are that you will marry young.
This is a general guide, (as is Dave's) Lilly has a more precise method but without your natal information I can't put that into operation.
Ronia,
As Saturn is one of the planets in your seventh House, it would be taken into account in a general estimate of your age on marriage. I've also seen Saturn in this position interpreted as marrying an older partner. As Saturn slows things down, that would be consistent with the reading you were given. My only reservation is that any method using one single factor is risky. I think that is why Lilly does it on what he would see as the balance of probabilities. But like all probabilities, it isn't guaranteed to happen.
