Deviant Moon - Nine of Cups

This card shows a well dressed fellow sitting on a shore line releasing a Genie out of a Lamp. Surprise lights his face - he can't believe his luck!

The genie can grant wishes but you have to be careful what you wish for.

I've personally always liked seeing this card in a spread - my first meaning ever learned about this card was "wish card" and I always felt the reading was blessed for the best with this card in it.

I know that is silly to imagine a genie that will grant your wish based on the appearance of this card but I feeel that this card does embody the initial surprise and wonder at things actually working all in your favour.

I think the thing here is to take it as a gift and not a lifestyle.

I also like the choices aspect of the meaning; when offered a single wish, it would be hard to make up your mind with so many possibilities laid out before you!
