Key VII - Chariot: Beast of Babylon

In the card art, we see a multi-headed beast...each head with a different face. The image is strikingly odd and an unusual choice for the Chariot..or is it?

An ever-writhing multi-headed chaos rooted in a singular body or vessel. Sounds a lot like life to me.

Traditionally we see the Chariot as triumph or charging forward in victory. In the twists and turns of life, we reap victories simply by successfully navigating the endless serpentine pathways of the Chaos around us. We deal with this writhing monstrosity in every waking moment of every day. We must charge forward through the chaos for Time does not wait for us but instead thrusts us forward whether we be prepared or not for the next twist or turn. Along the way, Chaos teaches us ever-changing knowledge and patterns and if we pay attention, navigating these sometimes treacherous traverses becomes easier as we begin to see definition in that which was once undefined. Knowledge and experience are building blocks for success and victory...but only if we learn from experience and apply knowledge wisely for these two elements in the right combination will enable us to wrestle this chaotic monstrosity to the ground even if only for awhile so that we can enjoy our peace on our terms....and that is the true beauty of life...when we find the calm center amidst the turmoil.

"...each of its seven heads grows upon a long neck and forms itself in the span of a few minutes, then quickly melts away and is replaced by another head. All the multitude of forming and dissolving heads are human..."

I'd never thought of this before but it is a lot like life as different elements of our personality come out at different times.
