Not allowed to have a link in your sig, but for future reference
url=http://www.google.com]I do enjoy search engines![/url
Becomes
I do enjoy search engines!
Once you include the outside brackets.

So when you have your nominees notify you of having recieved packages you could try typing

{url=http://www.tarotforum.net/whatever the full link is}Username has recieved their packed{/url}

Again, with proper bracketing.

OK thank you for that little lesson in how to make tidy urls. I'll try to remember how to do it.

You CAN have a link UNDER your sig. (I misphrased that.)

I have one in mine. Griz - in your profile, where it says website, just put in the thread link. The software will make it say "website" under your name.

Though you can't put a link a fancy ASCII imagery or something along those lines would get attention.

Or BB Codes. Not sure which ones are supported here...

I think the sigs we have here are great. It's just awful on forums that are crawling with pix in sigs - pages take ages to load, and quite often carry malware (a forum I'm on kept throwing them up from images linked from other sites.). I also love that we can't have animated avatars. We are here to talk (mostly) tarot, not show off icky pictures.

Nonny is publicised by word of mouth. It has worked for a long time - see the Nonny deck and so on. It isn't, and was never supposed to be, HUGE.

I wouldn't even want it to be huge. It's plenty big enough now for me to handle comfortably. I like it to just "be" what it's going to be of its own accord.

See, if it were made a great big deal, then it would become a Monster. Then it would seem that it was saying, "Come one, come all! Get free goodies here by joining AT!" and that's not at all what it's about. It's about a way to give some moral support and cheer where it can do some good at times or to help out a little when someone new appears to be struggling to learn and could use a deck---just little things like that, you know? Not every newcomer will get a deck, not everyone who needs moral support will get a package--but those of us who are involved do keep our eyes open for possible recipients and send where we can. The best way to get involved is to just nominate somebody when you notice they need a package and PM me about them or if you have someone you personally have something you want to send to them, let me know and I'll tell you how that's done.

Thanks Griz - my feelings precisely.

Otherwise it would feel rather like a banner on the front page here: "TODAY'S AT BIRTHDAY. Send Card Now !"

It works as it stands. If someone wants to spread the word - great. But it isn't an ADVERTISING thing.

Way to go with the link, Griz !

Many of the most recent packages are being sent from other countries, which means the mail is slower, but there are wonderful goodies winging their way to their surprise destinations as well as the ones mailed from here. If you know a member who receives mystery mail and doesn't know what the deal is, please point them in this direction for a little sharing, if you will.

I want to give a sincere and heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful new "Mouse Helpers" who are volunteering to send packages. I think it's absolutely wonderful that there's so much love and generosity here at AT.

Well, my goodness---slow isn't the word for the mail service right now. I guess all the tornadoes here and other storms and disasters don't help and other countries have their mishaps, too. I'm going to send out some PMs in case the packages have arrived but the recipients don't know about Nonny Mouse if we don't hear something soon.
