*fingers crossed*

So far, no. Hope it stays that way. But then I am a hopeless hoarder.

No decluttering in my house.

I've traded a few and given away 75 or so... Many are what would now be considered collectibles (Ancestral Path, V. Regina, etc.). I don't collect decks just to collect them, I like to use them. The problem is that many decks I gave away (like Thoth) I just hadn't "grown in to." There are many decks that I didn't appreciate many years ago that I now do (and why I have bought back several decks). Now, if there's a deck I just don't get on with, I try to wait a year before I trade or give it away. I also make a point to study with it, to see if I'm missing anything. For instance, the New Palladini was in my "give away" stack, so I spent a week studying it. Before, when I used it I just thought, "lovely colors, but that hamster looks ridiculous." But working intensely with it I found details that I never noticed before. Like on the Five of Swords - check our the serration on those blades! Not only do they cut, they bite and tear; a perfect analogy for the Five of Swords to me.

Let me explain.

"Getting rid of something" is the series of actions you take involving other objects to make room for more Tarot decks.

Ergo ... some people are actually weird enough to get rid of Tarot decks.

That is, do to Tarot decks, what any right-thinking people do to other stuff to make room for decks.

<sympathetic nod> Yes. Horrible, isn't it.

Ohhhh I so hate regrets. I sold my Deviant Moon deck I think at the end of summer or early fall last year. And just a couple months ago I started to really miss it and so I just had to repurchase it.
I gave my Legacy of the Divine to my son. He seems really happy with it and I don't really miss it anyway. I never really connected to that deck. I can't say that I will ever sell or give away another deck but for now my Tarot and Oracles are staying with me.

I tried decluttering once.

It would be quicker say what I *didn't* regret getting rid of than what I did.

All I can say is, never get rid of a deck because you feel that you "should".

So far, I haven't had any regrets about getting rid of decks.

I've only ever sold or traded a handful of them . . . in all cases, mass-market decks that I either hated the sight of, or had multiple copies of.

And then there was the Tapestry tarot, which was too horrid to trade or sell, and went right into the charity bag.

Yes. Especially these three: the Tarot of III Millenium, the Navigators of the Mystic SEA, and the 78 Ironwing.

Hm. I sold the III Millenium deck to LeFanu, who wanted it for majors only, and why didn't I think of that--I want the majors too! And Navigators is rumored to be among his favorite decks. So...LeFanu seems to be part of my trend here....

eta: Also, the Roots of Asia. I got annoyed at the too-much-greenness of the sea-foam green borders. What was I thinking.
