The Book of the Law Study Group 2.72

Always Wondering

There is no end to the Path -- death crowns all.

During this study I have sometimes been overwhelmed with all possibility. There is so much to experience, how am I going to do it all? But in reading Crowley's comments on this verse I finally get that I don't have to do it all. We do it all.

We of Thelema encourage every possible variation; we welcome every new 'sport'; its success or failure is our sole test of its value. We let the hen's queer hatching take to water, and laugh at her alarms; and we protect the 'ugly duckling', knowing that Time will tell us whether it be a cygnet.

What a relief, not to be the center of the Universe.

Grigori

This line reminds me of a Bon Jovi song.

Sleep When I'm Dead said:
Until I'm 6 feet under
Baby I don't need a bed
Gonna live while I'm alive
I'll sleep when I'm dead
Till they roll me over
And lay my bones to rest
Gonna live while I'm alive
I'll sleep when I'm dead

In the vein of keep on striving until it kills you, or feel free to die after you've done what you came here for, the Crown of it all.

Aeon418

The Thelemic conception of life is the love making of Nuit and Hadit. (Or it would be if the ego didn't insist on being a limp dick. ;)) Naturally it follows that a life lived to the full, in the way of the Will, represents a good roll in the hay. Death is then the climax to life.

In another context Crowley made this statement:
Two-thirds of modern misery springs from Woman's sexual dissatisfaction.
Now think of it in a bigger, more macrocosmic sense. Which woman is not being fulfilled if the ego doesn't want to get it on or behaves selfishly?
AL I:52.... if the ritual be not ever unto me: then expect the direful judgments of Ra Hoor Khuit!
Now that's what I call an elbow in the ribs for every selfish and inconsiderate lover. ;)

Aeon418

More phallic symbolism.

Joy ! :)

Doubt ? :(

Aeon418

AL I:13 I am above you and in you. My ecstasy is in yours. My joy is to see your joy.
Joy ! makes Nuit happy. :)

! could be said to represent the Middle Pillar.

Kether(1) + Tiphareth(6) + Yesod(9) + Malkuth(10) = 26

The paths: 13 + 25 + 32 = 70

26th path = Ayin, 70 - The Devil })

? Lift up thyself !

Always Wondering

I know there is a value of information in these posts but I am laughing to hard to asorb it.

I think I will just go with that today and come back and reread later.

Aeon418 you are on a roll!

At least you're laughing. ;)

I once explained the Middle Pillar ritual to a bunch of Golden Dawn-ers, using the same terminology. They were absolutely incredulous that their goody-two-shoes, white light Regardie could have written a symbolic sex magick ritual.

Nuit: To Me! To Me! :)

Hadit: I am not extended :(

Oh no! What a disaster. Hang on a minute! This problem didn't stop Isis after she failed to find all the pieces of Osiris. ;)

ΚΕΦΑΛΗ ΙΕ
THE GUN-BARREL
Mighty and erect is this Will of mine, this Pyramid of fire whose summit is lost in Heaven. Upon it have I burned the corpse of my desires.

Mighty and erect is this Φαλλος of my Will. The seed thereof is That which I have borne within me from Eternity; and it is lost within the Body of Our Lady of the Stars.

I am not I; I am but an hollow tube to bring down Fire from Heaven.

Mighty and marvellous is this Weakness, this Heaven which draweth me into Her Womb, this Dome which hideth, which absorbeth, Me.

This is The Night wherein I am lost, the Love through which I am no longer I.

COMMENTARY (IE)
The card 15 in the Tarot is "The Devil", the mediaeval blind for Pan.

The title of the chapter refers to the Phallus, which is here identified with the Will. The Greek word Πυραμις has the same number as Φαλλος

This chapter is quite clear, but one may remark in the last paragraph a reference to the nature of Samadhi.

As man loses his personality in physical love, so does the magician annihilate his divine personality in that which is beyond.

The formula of Samadhi is the same, from the lowest to the highest. The Rosy-Cross is the Universal Key. But, as one proceeds, the Cross becomes greater, until it is the Ace, the Rose, until it is the Word.

Always Wondering

Well that is calming. Lately I find The Book of Lies very helpful and often beautiful.

But I find myself still thinking in terms of punctuation and giggling throughout the day.
