Sure. Like any breed, there can be nice ones. They are not my faves either, but I've known plenty of sweet Chihuahuas.

Now, Cocker Spaniels....

I think it happens with every breed that becomes 'popular'... they're bred hastily instead of balancing traits and attributes, and tons of people buy them not knowing what needs to be done to raise them properly...I've known some awfully sweet cockers

I'm not much into little dogs either -- even my Libby, I had to really think hard about it. I rescued her because it had to be done, but it was my intention to pass her on to some little old lady or something, when she'd recovered suitably to deal with life...and she just ended up staying. She was so very attached to me..even now, she has to come "tell" me everything...Jack yelled at her..she comes running and paws my leg and looks worried...she jumped in Blue's lap and got a cuddle, she comes running and paws my leg and wags her tail, like it's okay right?? LOL It's kinda funny We call it her tattling LOL

I did tell her though, I don't do little dogs, so you're a cat okay?? LOL

I do feel every dog has a purpose, somewhere with someone, from the largest dane to the tiniest teacup designer dog, even if it's "only" to be companion to someone, to make them know they're loved and needed

Yes, I've known some lovely cockers as well. Just not my faves. Might be, with some of my preferences, because of work. I have a different view of some breeds.

Cockers = stinky ears
Dachshunds = paralysis, (impossible to restrain)
schnauzers = diabetes
Very large breeds = downer dogs (old dogs that can't walk)

So I want a nice mixed breed dog. (OK. I want one of the heeler pups at the clinic, but I don't like heelers either.) One person dogs and agressive to everyone else. I've known exceptions to this too, but still!

Thanks Yira,

Hiya emmsma,

No worries,

In addition to running around today, I have to get several dreamcatchers made up and have this jewelry display thing that I need to put pendants in with prices. Hubby says he has another outlet for me to sell my items since I don't wanna put them on ebay. I told him that it wasn't that I didn't wanna put them on ebay, I don't always have time to do ebay. (he had a doc appt yesterday and so was not in good mood when he got home. )

I was a bit upset at him last nite. But am ok this morning

LOL, interesting perspective!! Have you treated many shar pei? They have a peculiar odor all their own too LOL

Lilah is half Giant Schnauzer...no diabetes luckily. But she has the large breed problems. She's a bit unsteady on her legs..but she'll be 17 in April! (Or 18. She was "2-3yrs" when I got her) She's a nice mixed breed though Although she had ISSUES when I got her -- a 'red zone' dog.

We had blue heelers growing up; great cattle dogs. We'd send them after the cows in the morning and at night, and then go about with other feeding chores. They'd bring the cows in, and without upsetting them so they milked fine. Of course, my mom had her miniature poodle then too, and HE was a great cattle dog...he learned well from the others ROFL

Kaleanna, it sounds like your jewelry making is really taking off! That must feel really gratifying, you've worked so hard at it
