My definitive answer on that is...it depends LOLIf you buy books from amazon.com, you'll need the wifi connection to load your books from their 'bookshelf' (Or whatever they call what they store YOUR purchases on -- I don't have one to be sure) All my readers have had this capability; I never used it. I store my books on a USB stick thank you VERY much...and I always had a thing against DRM'ed books so never bought from amazon. (Digital Rights Management) My iPad has wifi also, which I DO use sometimes -- to access the internet. Not to read, I still store my books on a USB stick...LOL Or Jack will use it, when he goes to school with me and waits for me to get out of class LOL. 3G? Naww, you don't need it, not if you don't plan on browsing the internet while on the road, and can remember to load any books you store online while at home etc. 3G is just expensive phone technology, (monthly fee to u se...)with which you can access any online bookshelf in any place, whether you're near a wifi enabled connection or not. (this isn't really a difficult thing, my home connection is wifi enabled.) Let's put it this way -- if you don't feel the need of an iPhone w/3G, you probably don't need a reader with it ![]() ~Yira __________________ The most wasted of all days is one without laughter. ~e e cummings ~~~~~~~~ Give a person a fish and you feed him for a day. I just have too much stuff! I've got most of the boxes back in the closet, for now. And when my nephew gets his stuff out of the storage unit(just down the street) next week, I can move things down there. __________________ Touch the strand, Sense the need, Offer the power, Feel it breed ~~~~ 2012 PDR - Gaian Tarot |

This is the ereader I used for YEARS.... : http://www.ebookwise.com/ebookwise/ebookwise1150.htm To be honest, I'd go with the Kindle, if I were you, and just get the booklight/cover that Zan is gonna send you the link to It has more storage, is thinner and lighter, etc. Unless you insist you need backlit, which I did, and that's why I used the ebookwise, then went to the ipad. (And even so, I'd consider a kindle if I didn't have my ipad, after seeing Zan's cover)~Yira __________________ The most wasted of all days is one without laughter. ~e e cummings ~~~~~~~~ Give a person a fish and you feed him for a day.
