Quick way of finding all threads where you posted?
Sounds like a stupid question, but I couldn't find it in the FAQs or through Search. Is there a quick link that displays all the threads where you have posted at least once? Not only the threads that you started, but any thread where you have contributed. I can go to Advanced search and type my username where it says "Find posts by User..." but it's cumbersome. I also know there's "Watched threads" but I'd rather not have to mark every place I post in. Thanks for any help. |

When you have posted, you'll notice a button titled "Thread tools". Click on that for options to pop open, and click on the "Watch this thread" button that you mentioned. (It really is the easiest way, and once you no longer find the thread interesting you can delete it from your watched thread folder... it's the quickest way I've been able to find to retrace my steps, as I can't remember the names of all threads. If you do go this way, you have to decide whether you want email notification (I wouldn't recommend it), or no notification, so click as appropriate, and then it will say "you are now watching this thread". To look at your watched threads click on the "Quick Links" button... just near the log out button... and then scroll down to click on "watched threads"... It will show you when the last person has posted, and if you were that person, so you know if it's worth revisiting that thread right then. Good luck.

Namaste, linnie. I'll follow your advice. It also sounds like a good way to focus my energies on a few threads, for example, by keeping only 5 to 10 threads on watch at any time. Quality over quantity. EDIT: I found another related method. In any thread you do have a post, click on your avatar or the "Profile" link at the bottom of the post. From there, right under "Forum Info" there's a link to find all posts by you or all threads you started. This doesn't seem to available from the "User CP" link. The other thing is in CP - set your preferences to watch any thread you posted in (and be SURE to UNCHECK email notifications (default subscription mode, under email settings - you want to check "no email notification" - that watches but doesn't email you about every post !) unless you LIKE a VERY full inbox !!!) and then if you go to quick links > watched threads - that's what comes up. __________________ ~ ~ I probably shouldn't be here. This is what I needed, gregory. Thank you! I kept forgetting to manually watch threads. |
