I know, and it seems like it's the opposite for mobile phone companies. They give away free phones to new customers like candy; but if you want to leave a certain phone provider, it's like trying to get a dog off your leg.

I know what you mean! Our cable company gives you a 2 hour window for service and has to(is supposed to) notify you if it's going to be later than that. All of this has to be arranged in a phone call ahead of time(of course).

A 2 hour window would be just GRAND. Here's it 4 or 5 hours. **sigh**

I remember when I left the company I was with before this one, I just couldn't stand it anymore. The service was awful. Hubby and I could be standing next to each other. He'd get a signal, I wouldn't. So I called the company and told them I was leaving. You should have heard the guy! "You've had this phone number for a long time, don't you want to be able to keep the same number? We can get you a new and better phone! How about a cheaper contract? Is there anything we can do to convince you to stay?"

Me: "No, nothing. Now cancel the contract, NOW."

Of course, the ironic thing was, after leaving the big company to join the "little guy" the big company BOUGHT the little company anyway.

It is such a hassle to change , it's easier to stay with one, which is what they want.
