I have "A Dictionary Of Symbols" by J. E. Cirlot who apparently is a Spanish historian of some note in this field. My 2nd edition was published by Barnes & Noble in the USA, originally published by Routledge & Kegan Paul Ltd. Its 400+ pages covers a lot of ground. Dave.
