As far as I know, there are no shops around to do that -- one of the lovely things about living in the sticks I don't know if the college would help - I'm not a student there any more. I do have a friend who will be continuing college in the fall -- not sure if she has the ability to get to the hardware lab or not though. She's software also....It's something I'll probably ask her about though.

Thanks Blue - it would help to be able to rule out things either way. Incidentally the PSU cost more than the motherboard...LOL (Gaming system...need lots of power...etc)

general consensus (of a similar issue, not mine) is usually psu, sometimes mobo. Either way out of my range now...but (depending on cost) when I do it I'll try to find a place to find out of my psu is operating correctly...(its fan also starts when all the other fans start...)

Incidentally stupid autocorrect keeps changing my psu to pus..highly annoying.

Pull the side cover off, check the CPU and heat-sink are connected correctly. If it is the power supply they usually will run for a few minutes if it is left to cool over night and you "wiggle things )

Check Ram.

If you remove the ram I believe you're suppose to have a constant tone...but I do not recall 100% too long since I have done any of that... I could check easily enough..

Do a F5 boot... what is your operating system?

hello everyone!

My boss was hospitalized today (ambulance came to work to get him. Don't know what's wrong.) Prayers and Nice Thoughts for him please?
