Arrow jdev's Mirepoix spread

jdev's mirepoix spread

i love food. i loved food before loving food was chic. i eat it most everyday. i love tarot. i don't, however, love taro (a root used to make poi, among other things). i love three card spreads. thus, the jdev mirepoix spread.

if you don't know, mirepoix (meer-pwoh) is the french term for a soup base. it is universally the same. a carrot, a celery stalk, and an onion in boiling water. an essential for soup bases. ah! base. there's the key word. we'll use this spread to gain a solid foundation before embarking on a any new endeavor or enterprise. the cards shall be cast be cast linearly.

The Carrot: This is what you see already about the situation. The old wives' tale is true, carrots are good for the eyes and a tarot card in the carrot position will give you clarity of vision regarding your thoughts and feelings on said circumstances. A reaffirmation, if you will.

The Celery: Celery is subtle in mirepoix. It gives the soup base a depth that you would miss if it weren't there, but can't quite put your finger on what it is when it is there. A tarot card in this position tells you the subtleties to be attuned to before you get started.

The Onion: Ah, the glorious onion. Love it or hate it, it is a force to be reckoned with, and is always palpable in a dish. You never miss it and always know what it is. A card in the onion's position will tell you what things are not to be missed before you get started.

below is my sample reading:

my question: what should the US's citizens be aware of if S***h P***n runs for p******t in 2012?

The Carrot: Nine of Swords
The Celery: Three of Cups
The Onion: The Lovers Rx

The Carrot lets us know that we have already witnessed curious things around this person. Things surrounding Ms. P***n can be like waking from a bad dream. From political gaffs to rewriting Paul Revere's history, these things are multiplicitous (as is evident in the nine swords) and there will always be "face/palm" moments surrounding the good lady. The nine of swords reminds us and clarifies that we already despair of situations surrounding this person.

The Celery lets us know that if she runs for p*******t not to take it too seriously or that we should drink ourselves to abandon if the situation looks good for her. Either way, we should be drunk. But seriously, this card in this position means that there will be subtle victories for this person. Her down-home charm and personality is subtle and beguiling to some.

The Onion lets us know that if a run is made, we need to watch for the evident (remember, onions signify obvious things) instability regarding this person. There is always chaos around the good lady. Such a streak of hooplah, gaffs, and missteps are being presented to us for a reason. Just because we have become innured or immune to this person's being in the daily news doesn't mean she isn't a force to be reckoned with.

i hope you like this spread and test it out. the above sample reading was an actual reading, but presented from an obviously liberal democrat humorous point of view. this was not meant to stir up political discussion. i do believe there is a socio-political sub-forum on the site somewhere. the point in reading for a famous figure was so we could all relate (be it in agreement or disagreement) to the person for whom the reading was done. in my past two spreads, i've read for myself and didn't want to do that with this one as it wouldn't have had the same impact.

i also do not advocate drinking to excess. i am a recovering alcoholic and addict and have over five years clean and sober. drink responsibly.

as always, if you like and use my spread in your own blog or on another forum, i'd appreciate a shout-out and a link back here to the original thread.

Hers,
Jagadeesh

Cute! Now you should do one for the holy trinity of Cajun food: onion, bell pepper and garlic.
