Hi Jema!
I simply adore LoS decks.

It is a nice enough machine. I have had it since '96, but it is not a heavy duty kind of machine. There is one at St. Vinnie's that I think would be more sturdy for the heavy stuff, but I don't have enough $$.

*sigh* I am a beginner sewer, too, so that doesn't help.

Yes, I have owned a sewing machine since 1996 and I am still a beginner.
I'm a beginner too... pretty much lost when it comes to anything but a straight seam! Though I've had my machine a long time, too. She is a querulous old lady who won't sew anything thicker than quilting cotton, and loves to snarl her bobbin thread. (I know this has to do with the tension, but the shop I took her to couldn't fix it... I forget why.)

It is strange, but I am starting to develop sub-collections. I have this whole Victoriana thing going on. Then the cats. And then I discovered I had a number of decks using the Golden Dawn System

ETA: Answered my own question - yes! Andrea Serio. I was looking at scans of the Liber T and was like, HEY! That looks just like the Dante, but with a Thothy theme.
How do you like the Dante? I like the art, but wasn't sure it was anything I'd read with.

I like the idea of sub-collections. I do have a historical annex in mine.

I think my approach will be to not compare it to the Thoth, but use it to inform my Thoth studies... if that makes sense. Kind of like supplemental material. And I DO like the art on its own merit.

Sorry was gone ages!! Watched some telly with James and himself - which was rare enough so that I enjoyed it.

Hey - one of my long term (work) clients coughed up £50 for my marathon . I nearly fainted!!!

The Dante is quite remarkable. The artwork is very expressive and it is easy to read intuitively. It uses its own system of Clouds, Brick, Fire, and something else. The Majors are a bit different, too. The Devil is my favorite card - in that deck it is called "Authority."

Lovely, Chiska!

Sweet dreams to you Wendy

I've been doing jewelcrafting while Jack watches his movie...we'll do dinner when he's done. Tuna Potatoes tonight...good way to not heat up a house that's already a bit too hot
