Dragon Tarot -- The Emperor IV

Dragon Tarot by Peter Pracownik

From the Little White Book:
Quote:
IV THE EMPEROR - The emperor also sits on a throne, thus emphasizing his superiority over all other Dragons, bar his compatriot the Empress. in one hand he holds the Martian symbol of the orb with arrow, showing his assocition with the dynamic powers of action. His color is red, for blood, for fire, for the basic elements of energy. He is a master over all realms of doing.

Divinatory Meaning- The struggle for personal independence.
Reverse Meaning - Unable to receive from others. Bossy.
The Emperor's throne is that of wood, unlike the ethereal stuff of the Empress, and set on a dais. (Ego much?) It's hard, practical- a symbol of his authority and rigid nature. Etched on the wood are two symbols- one that could be either the sun or the symbol for air, and another with which I am unfamiliar. The arrow and orb set are also items that display a position of power. The arrow can easily be mistaken for a rod or staff of lordship if one isn't overly observant, a more mature version of the wand the Fool carries. He is lean, imperious, almost... suspicious? of even the one viewing the card. Above his head is the skull of a ram, perhaps an indication of his vicious or unforgiving nature. Around the fire dragon, it seems as though he has decimated the trees. They look dead and barren or afflicted with flame cinders. Two symbols of Aries the ram appear on the bottom of this card.

You can see the Hebrew letter Daleth in this breast feeding glyph which is a symbol for nurturing. The dragon’s head is bent down to suckle (if you will) off an orange orb. This represents his desire to nurture. And again the balance of male and female energies. (This was hard to see and find. I certainly hope this doesn’t keep getting herder by this point. I know I will get through it!) The breast is the glyph for this Arcanum!

Triple Name of the 4th Arcanum
Forma = Form (On the plane of the Archetype)
Auctoritas = Authority (On the plane of Man)
Adaptatio = Adaptation (On the plane of Nature)

This triple name comes from the three sets of horns creating the triple crown on the dragons head. I.E. The Curled antlers of the Ram (Forma) Dragons horns (Auctoritas) Antlers of a Deer (Adaptatio)

Runic letter F named Fehu = Possessions won and earned, earned income, luck, abundance, financial strength in the present or near future. Sign of hope, plenty, success and happiness. Social success/energy/foresight/fertility/Creation/destruction, becoming. (REVERSED or Markstave) Loss of personal property, esteem, or something you put in effort to keep. It indicates some sort of failure. Greed, burnout, atrophy, discord, cowardice, stupidity, dullness, poverty, slavery, or bondage.

Sun Symbol (Circle with dot in center) = Spark of Masculine life within the cosmic womb. Spiritual merging of male/female forces. Represents the Sun.

Hierophant Cross = The perpendicular stem of the cross means the channel through which flows the current, passing through the three lower worlds, symbolized by the horizontal arms of the cross. From top down the 3 worlds is Form/Authority/Adaptation.

Ogham (pronounced OWAM) letter U = Month: none Class: Heather is peasant; mistletoe is chieftain Letter: U Meaning: Healing and development on the spiritual level.

The golden seeds hanging from the branches of the trees represent fertility. The Emperor sits above astral space, which sits above the Material world, which is above the Natural world. His being seated in the throne above all three indicates his mastery of these realms of doing. Orange/Gold/Red are this Arcanum’s colors. Indicating his active role in all three planes Purifying/ Enlightening/ /Nourishing. The Emporers throne hides the Hierophant cross/Ogham Letter U: in the thrones seat and leg structure . Yellow nose and forehead line leading to the oval Amber Gem between the horns would be the Venus symbol.

4 square cross symbols
Dark Orange horizontal arm crossing the white underbelly = To Dare (oser)
Dark Orange perpendicular leg crossing the white underbelly = To Keep Silent (Se Taire)
Dark Orange Foot Crossing the Dark Orange Tail = To Know (Savoir)
Nose and crossing forehead line make a light/light cross = To Will (Vouloir)
