Cards for hidden emotions?

How can you tell if someone has feelings for you but hides them?

Everything about this person puzzles me. From conversations we have to cards I draw. I can't figure out if he really sees me as a friend only, or if he's determined to repress and hide emotions (because there's someone else he might hurt) and therefore acts as a friend only.
I'm probably really desperate right now, to even wonder such a thing, and determined in finding emotions where there are none, but I can't help it.

Any clues?

When a friends husband had a crush on me it was shown by the Devil and the 3/Cups.

With the Moon's theme of emotions AND hidden things, that seems the obvious one to crop up here. But it probably depends what kind of feelings you're talking about. If he's got lustful feelings, I'd be on the lookout for the Devil or the Knight of Wands (from personal experience) whilst the Page of Cups and 2 of Cups come to mind for feeling a romantic connection with someone. Look out for these combined with cards with a secretive theme such as the Moon, High Priestess or 7 of Swords.

I have also got the King of Cups in a few daily draws on days when I felt totally emotional, yet had to put on a calm persona and hide it from the rest of the world.

Interesting. I started a thread not so long ago about the 3 of Cups and sexual experimentation as I had read somewhere an interpretation of it in that way. However, the crush also makes sense now I come to think of readings I have given and the querents' feelings for somebody.

I can see from the Rider Waite deck how the 3 of Cups can signify experimenting sexually but can anybody explain to me how the 3 of Cups in that deck signifies a crush? I am interested to hear because I think it comes up as that sometimes.

7 of swords, High Priestess or the Moon, paired with 2 of cups perhaps?

It is like, having some disturbed and exiteing feelings for someone that is a friend (of both parties in the couple) and therefore is off limits. But you can not deny it and you are playing with "what if" in the fantasy.

I found 2 of swords more often than not to be the one where one party puts a blind eye and denies any feelings, keeping it hidden even from himself,so for what its worth,2 of swords

id even go so far to say in love readings the Hanged man, although the hanged man is based on fear of getting hurt hence the ponderous....ness

I think you could have several cards based on WHY they were hiding their emotions.
Just a few ideas/thoughts
Strength Reversed: they dont feel like they can make anything good come of their feelings
Devil: they have repressed their feelings or think that the feeling is bad.
Emperor reversed: striving too hard to control his emotions, out of touch with the Empress
Any Cup reversed: as they are the emotion cards, any of them reversed could signify emotions not being expressed properly
10 of Wands: feels walled in, overburdened, can't express themselves
4 of Disks: defensiveness, doesnt want to get hurt
Any Sword: in reference to emotions, any sword COULD mean that Knowledge is overriding Emotion

Does that make sense? Just started rambling a bit
