I wanted to thank Marianne for her lovely pics of the Arthurian Keeper of Words trimmed tarot. I was inspired to try my own version: I kept the upper and lower borders, as this deck is probably the only one where I enjoy key words--I am re-reading Mary Stewart's Merlin books and actually knew what the firedrake card meant hurrah! and I trimmed off all borders completely even the inner ones and rounded off corners. The cards are now shaped like biscotti. They bring to mind silver slivers of a magical realm....or mirror shards from an enchanted vision....this wax poetic me thinks! If anyone is interested I shall be delighted to post some pics. The irony is that I do it through a site call tiny something and the pictures after scanning come out gigantic. Well, size don't matter do it? Really even if the cards are now an odd size they are truly improved IMHO all of a sudden the magic just leapt right out at me, something which seems to happen every time I trim a deck! Well, back to work-not finished yet |
