Hi! I'm here. I've been quite sick since December. Shelley seems to be having a lovely world tour! I don't know if she would have a very active time with me as things are at the moment, but she's always welcome to come visit if she wants to have a bit of a quiet rest from all that travelling. We can have tea.

roppo, I'm much enjoying your pictures and reports of Shelley's adventures. It's so nice that she has her own chair while she's staying with you!

Just read through the journal ... wonderful stories!! I hope littlethings will tell a bit more about Salem - I visited there last year, but as it rained cats and dogs, I did not get to see as much as I'd have liked. And how perfect that Mell could take her to a psychic fair and do readings!! I'm still excited she made the jump from Japan so quickly. __________________ Some are born to sweet delight, some are born to endless night... ~William Blake, Auguries of Innocence~ Screws fall out all the time. Thanks Flaxen! Yes, geocaching is fun. We started it to get to know the city we moved to better and also to motivate us to be outside after work rather than crashing on the couch! Some are just containers hidden more or less well at the published coordinates, but many are real treasure hunts with multiple stations and puzzles to solve. We have just found our 333th cache and have cached in Germany, Austria, UK, Netherlands, Spain, France, the US and China (okay, just one hubby logged on a business trip, but still cool!).

Aulruna, thank you for your pictures and stories! I also got into geocaching recently but have done mostly urban caches so far which are too small to hold anything like that big notebook in the one you found. I hope to branch out to caches that take me to interesting and beautiful places outside of the city this summer. And, wow, not long until Shelley will come to the north of this country and stay with me for a week!

DeadlyNightshade, what a mass of pictures! Thank you for showing Shelley the Frankenstein castle - it looks as if you had fun exploring all nooks and crannies of it! The small door in the chapel corner stood out to me - do you know what its purpose is/was? And I definitely envy you the beautiful weather because it was rather rainy and stormy up here in the north today... |

Nooo, it's nice to see so many pictures! I liked the new ones, too. At first I thought the big wooden screw thing was a medieval torture instrument, but then I read the small sign that says it's actually an old fabric press. I think poor Shelley will have something of a culture shock when comes to visit me after all that spookiness you provided! She will probably think I'm a terrible hippie or something (me! ha! *pointing to old vinyl punk records in an attempt to save my reputation as a badass*). Well, if she finds it all too cheerful here, I will show her my partners still relatively fresh surgery scars and the huge sunset-colored bruise on his side (no worries, he's fine, but he still looks pretty scary in places!). ![]() I'll admit, I'm already getting rather excited to have her here soon! |
