Gaian Tarot ~ Ten of Air

I much prefer this interpretation of the birds flying south for the winter, rather than having ten swords stabbed into someone's back. It's a reminder of the fact that you will (hopefully) be moving onto greener pastures, and isn't focused on the loss/nastiness.

I've seen this sight countless times, just as depicted on the cards, against a beautiful sunset. Both flying south and when they go north again. The flocks usually stop in this area for a respite from their long trip. There's a really solemn beauty about their sounds as they fly up into their formations and take off. Whenever we hear the geese, it means the turning of summer to fall and spring into summer. It always marks the end of a season----but the start of another season, too, and we always wait for their return. This card is about endings but also about beginnings.
