Wow, quiet all the sudden. Has everyone left their computers to go check their turkeys or something?

Hey NT Nope, I'll worry about Turkey dinner a bit later, since I got a turkey breast this time instead of a whole turkey it'll cook a lot quicker. (neither of us care for the dark meat. Too much cartilage in the legs etc.)

Instead I'm getting ready for my shop sale which starts at midnight tonight LOL

The evil-in-laws always wanted to eat at 1 pm. That just didn't work for me. I had 200-250 newspapers stuffed with the black friday sale ads, weighing 2.5 lbs each, to deliver. And even though I started at 4 am, by the time I got done, got hubby showered and dressed and out the door it was 2 in the afternoon.

I finally told mil/fil to come over and get hub ready themselves, then their family could eat dinner whenever the hell they wanted. " That's your job, why do you have to work on a holiday?" Because you won't pay our bills, bitc*!

LOL. I haven't started dinner. Just finishing breakfast - at 1045.

Turkey is just a breast here, so it shouldn't take a lifetime to cook. Our veggies are canned. The pie was store bought. Just have to do the potatoes. maybe cookies.

And then there is the chili I will be starting in just a few. (When hubby look at me oddly, I reminded him how wonderful chili is on a baked potato.)

Gee I am glad I lost 8 pounds last week. I'll be gaining it all back in the next few days.

I ditto this, but it's been years now, and this will be the first meal I've cooked for Thanksgiving since we split. I still can't justify a whole turkey for the 4 of us, so the ham works better. It's gonna be really low key, but then I so rarely cook anymore that it seems festive...LOL

I even put down a table cloth! Pict on FB...

I'm trying to distract myself from my work worries by writing. I've got a story itch I'm trying to scratch, but there's things, really basic things, I can't decide.

My character is basically doing a "walkabout", becoming a modern traveling Hermit living off the land. But I can't even decide if she's gong to have a vehicle or not.

UGh! So glad I don't have to deal with family anymore. Never much had to deal with hubby's folk cause his dad was in Conn. and mom in Fl.

My family kinda ate all day. Gathered between 12 and one. Started with sandwiches and cookies. Salad type stuff and then by 4ish we'd start the "real" food.

We'd have a gang of us. 3 sets of cousins families and grandma and grandpa - so about 18 people.

We'd always have tons of food. Turkey, ham and roast pork. Rice, beans, mashed potato, sweet potato, - oh the potato and macaroni salads started with the sandwiches - cranberry yuck stuff(hated cranberry sauce), green beans, stuffing - the bready kind and one that was made with the heart/liver and other innards, and for some reason we always had lasagna.

and several kinds of pie and cake.

I cooked a turkey breast(7 lb.) for my client yesterday. It was still partially frozen, so took about 3 hours, 2 at 300 degrees, then the final hour at 350 degrees. Turned out really good!

No, wasn't trying to lose. I do that from time to time. Maybe I was stressing my lack of work over these two weeks. I didn't eat alot and my stomach was very upset.
