Baroque Bohemian Cats - Queen of Pentacles
Funny that the queen is sitting calmly and working on her needlework. I was just setting up a sewing machine in my bedroom so that I can sew while watching tv. The queen sits, regal and strong, her little kitten beside her. Sometimes when this card comes up I'm the kitten, and sometimes the queen. I find that the queen seems to represent me when I feel strong and grounded. The kitten when I'm feeling uncertain and ungrounded. Behind the queen is what looks like a framed painting of a city. But when I first saw it, I interpreted it as a window, overlooking a bustling city full of ancient looking structures. Like this is a window on the past, on the structures that inform her life. On the upbringing that grounds her and helped to make her the beautiful and successful queen that she is today. I've never really noticed this part of the card before, and it has me thinking of how pentacles can be about grounding, and how our past definitely influences our ability to stay grounded, and if we had a good childhood, makes it easier for us to feel grounded during times of crisis. __________________ Karen and her hounds creating art ~ creating a new life |
