There's more than a single way to pronounce "th." I pronounce the first th like you'd find it in the word "then" and the second th like you'd find in the word "moth." That combination to most ears sounds like Toth (the second choice in the survey if I remember right). Nevertheless I know I'm making really 2 th sounds.

I pronounce it Toth, rhymes with moth.

ETA: I listened to Paul Hughes Barlow on YouTube (he has a video series) and he says Toth.

I've heard it said that Toat (as in boat) is a correct pronunciation. Though you know, dead language and all so hard to say probably. I saw Toth, cause that's what I got used to

I say Toth, to rhyme with moth. I don't like saying Thoth with two 'th' sounds, because it thoundth like I'm lithping. And it feelth like I've had a shot of Novacaine at the denthitht. But Tot seems odd and Toat is just weird. And no way am I saying Tayhootee.

About those other words, LeFanu, I've always said them in my head 'HIGH-roe-fant' and 'Eh-Tay-yuh'. Don't know if that's right and I don't care! Mwa ha! As you rightly sniff, if you have no one to talk to about it, what does it matter.

I tell you one thing that bothers me, though. I noticed some people at a conference saying 'Gay-uhn' Tarot for Gaian. To me it's definitely 'GUY-an'.

Oh, and for me it's 'TARE-oh' (to sound like snare oh), not 'TAY-roh' or 'TAH-roh', and certainly not Tarrot to rhyme with carrot!

Did I digrethth?? oopth

I say "thoh" to rhyme with dough, with a soft "th" sound like in "thought". I think that's how Angeles Arrien pronounced it the first time I heard it spoken aloud, so that's what stuck with me. I could have misremembered how she said it, TBF, but it's what it is to me now <shrug>

Well, if SHE did, I DON'T... It's not as if she has any real affinity with the deck

Two th-s for me. And I don't CARE. As long as the world knows what I mean !

T-o-th - with a hard T as in 'tea' and to rhyme with 'both'.
