My grandma made those for us - I wish I had one of the pics to scan and show. My mother had a gorgeous parka made by her mother.

The pelts all came from what my grandfather hunted. They didn't waste much.

Of course, modern tanning techniques were not used....as an example, my mother's seal and caribou skin mukluks disintegrated at some point (after 30 years or so). As did the fox pelts she had (belonged to my grandma and used for making parkas, etc.).

Your family must have been incredibly resourceful, and prepared to turn their hands to almost anything. I do admire that kind of determination! Strong women

A Hobo waves from the side of the tracks

Hey All, what's new? What did I miss?

I really shouldn't be here right now. I need to go to a specific shop, buy some gluten-free flour, then get to R-T's place to make Heart Cookies to give away on Food Day. The hard part will be remembering they are for Food Day and not eating them ourselves!

Hi there NT. Mmm. Cookies.

I miss cookies. And who's idea was it to go on a stupid supposedly low carb diet right before valentines day.

Oh yes. It was mine.

I must announce that I am not on a diet as far as chocolates are concerned - for this week.
