See, I like the Deviant Moon, but I also like a lot of art that others find "unattractive, unappealing and creepy", so... I like the colors, the semi-disturbing imagery, and I find it pretty readable (though I don't read with it all that often). This deck seems to appeal to men more than most of my others, despite the fact that I primarily use decks that are considered "masculine" by many (the Thoth, Hermetic, Magickal, etc.). |

I personally DO NOT understand all the Thoth fear. I was beaten up by my ex because I had a friend's Thoth in the house. Seriously?? WTF? This guy hadn't seen the inside of a church for probably 20 years! But his Christian Indignation was certainly in high form. ![]() It (DM) is a good deck. It is interesting and it has serious merit. But Number 1 of all time?? No. |

I don't hate it, it just seems like a fad deck to me, not a viable candidate for Best of All Time. The polls suggest I'm wrong... at least for now. I'll admit I haven't really looked into it. I've just looked at sample cards. But some of them feel really off to me. Like the Hermit -- the person-thing on the Hermit is naked, all cowering and scared looking. That doesn't say Hermit to me. Then there's the Moon. What's with the puppets? It doesn't have the mystical feel that I want from a Moon card. If he's trying to suggest the idea that the Moon makes people loony when it's full, like we're puppets of the Moon somehow... well, I can think of more meaningful ways to express that... I guess, in short, it doesn't work for me. I like decks that deviate from the norm, but they still need to have something to say to me. __________________ Sic gorgiamus allos subjectatos nunc. |

![]() I kind of like that every day is a new beginning feeling. Never mind me, I am being abused by the Petit Etteilla again. HOWEVER.... I have made a couple of breakthroughs! It is a fun deck - if one likes to bang one's head against a brick wall with only 18th Century French manuscript to keep you company! |
