Home Now

Spent the day at R-T's place again. A nice day off, even if I did spend some of it doing her housework.

Tomorrow is another day off. This time, I know what I'm doing. First of all, I need to go to the mall tomorrow, as close to when it opens as possible. That's because the Dollarama has brought in another shipment of the "white can" Coke cans, from the save the polar bears promotion last year. They are listed at 3/$1, with no limit. Tomorrow is my payday, so I will be picking up as many as I can carry. And I have one of those wheeled shopping bags! Tomorrow evening is also meeting time for the Science Fiction Club. The first meeting since the P&P. What I'll do in between, who knows?

Hello, NT!

Well, I'm a dork . . . again. I got into corner-rounding all these postcards and I think I'll be paying for it with a nice blister at the fleshy base of the thumb.

Hi NT!

Is the white can Coke better somehow, or is it just the great deal?

I know that feeling. You get into something, and you don't want to stop. With me, it was cross-stitch related injuries. Although I haven't stitched in years.

It's a great deal.

It sort of comes with a story as to how these cans have been showing up in Dollar Stores. The "save the polar bears" campaign was a great idea, but having the promotion be an all-white can turned out to be a really bad idea. The problem was, no one bought them! Why, because they didn't know it was "real" coke. They kept assuming that it was Diet Coke (which comes in silver cans).

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...Diet-Coke.html

The article itself worries me a bit. Especially the diabetic who said "I didn't look at the can".

I can tell you from my experience with R-T, if you have dietary restrictions, you look at EVERYTHING.

It's probably not worth the hassle. The status quo over there will never change.

But ittybittys cuddling ARE worth it

Ah, okay. Yeah... he had a good run though... inspired generations to read and do fun art

Uh, I don't know about that. I've known diabetic people that ran all kinds of risks. Not everyone is careful or smart!

I can see why people would just assume though. If I'm buying Coke I look for the red label, not white. That's awesome that you're going to get a deal out of their mistake
