Hi Stormy!

I would advise reading DuQuette's Chicken Qabalah... It was a fantastic intro - enough to get you over the hump and decide how much or how far you want to go....

And that's a really good question. I never thought about the purpose of the paths. I just thought of them as the lines connecting the sephiroth-dots. And there's, like, a relationship between each of the sephiroth that are connected by a path, though that stuff is beyond me so far...

One thing I wonder is, what decides which path corresponds to which Major? Like why is the Sun card on the parth between Hod and Yesod, instead of one of Tiphareth's paths, when Tiphareth is ruled by the sun, astrologically speaking?

It's all a big ball of confusion as far as I'm concerned

The sephiroth relate to the minors - 10 sephiroth - 10 minor card numbers. The paths are the 22 Hebrew letters and each letter, as you know, has a path and a major card.

Today, I walked into the lab to hear one of the profs asking two students, "How do I know what to teach you if you don't tell me what you don't know!" They had been complaining about not getting clarification on topics. And yet, they hadn't asked any questions! How does a teacher know what is clear and what isn't if nobody asks questions!?

Laura - your idea sounds great. A nice Thoth Discussion Thread for Beginners to work things out. If the more Thoth experienced want to jump in and contribute, then that would be awesome, but a nice place for beginners to just discuss the Thoth and some of the broader and finer points.

I've not been there, and in fact it's kinda sad that I really have not spent much time in NM. I do remember a trip to Taos, but I was YOUNG, and I'm pretty sure be backpacked somewhere down there, but again....LONG time ago.
