Another recommendation for the Hanson Roberts. A fabulous reading deck...and my favorite. I might also suggest the Minute Tarot, but I think it might be a little too sketchy for you.(it's not a bad RWS reading deck...at least for me.) __________________ Out Of Body...Back in 5 Minutes |

![]() I would recommend, for a newb, the connolly tarot deck http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards...y/review.shtml or the Aquarian http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards...n/review.shtml I learned with the Aquarian, and it is the deck I usually give to new readers as a gift easy and pretty, and based on RWS. Good luck!

http://www.amazon.com/Tarot-Book-Min...3170799&sr=1-2 This is a GREAT size if you decide on the Hanson-Roberts. ![]() Good luck with your search and have FUN! I just found another listing on Amazon with offerings from $5 +$3.99 shipping: http://www.amazon.com//gp/offer-list...=bf-dt-home-20 ETA: This small version of the Hanson-Roberts, Tarot to Go size deck has been carried with me for years since it is small. I know it's a bit fluffy, but I love the size and the convenience and it gives me answers, so I just ignore that it's fluffy and use it like a workhorse when I want to grab a deck from my purse. I didn't realize HR came in two sizes. How do they compare to playing cards? __________________ "Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes.)" - "Song of Myself," Walt Whitman |

The normal sized Hanson Roberts is the playing card size (roughly the size of a poker deck) The "To Go" size is about the size of a large pack of gum. __________________ Out Of Body...Back in 5 Minutes |

The Hanson Roberts is a great deck. I have very small hands and I love the size of this deck. It is very affordable but if you don't mind investing a bit more in a deck, I would go for the Anna K. I feel that the cards just make sense- especially those blasted court cards. The cards are a bit thicker than the norm but I've never had trouble shuffling them. __________________ "Bad things are not the worst things that can happen to us. As an after thought, I pulled out me "Universal Waite" in the "Pocket" size which is recolored by Mary Hanson-Roberts and compared it to the Tarot-To-Go sized Hanson-Robert cards. Attached is also a scan of the 2 of Pentacles side by side from the Tarot-To-Go sized Hanson-Robert and the Pocked sized Universal Waite next to a ruler. |

The Anna K is gorgeous, I'd be afraid to touch it. It's a hair pricey for me right now, but I'd love to own one someday. Carla - I love (loooove) the Harmonious /adds to wishlist Never been a big fan of the Morgan-Greer, though. Every card I look at all I can think is "mustache." Chronata - I really like the Minute Tarot, actually. It is sketchy, but really charming. I like the hand-lettering a lot. Pam O - That Tarot to Go deck is the PERFECT size. I was going to put in a whole string of "perfects" but I thought that might be a little obnoxious, so instead I'm just going to go buy one. Thank you. Thank you all - I really appreciate the suggestions! There's several decks that I would never have taken into consideration that I really think I would love (Hanson-Roberts, Radiant Waite) and some other ones that I hadn't even seen before. I can already tell I'm going to be buying more than one deck. |

*** off to grab it *** OK, it's a bit bigger than the Universal Waite. The Minute Tarot is a fun deck and I love shuffling it. Size and card stock are nice to work with. You know, it might be fun to have a thread listing the smaller decks with pros & cons... ENJOY your new deck(s)! |
