Mainegirl117: Amanda_04's Cluster Readings ~ Beg. of April 2012

No time like the present! Here's my reading/draw!

******1*******
***********5**
**2****6******
************4*
*******3******

1 - What do you expect from yourself? 5 of Pentacles

At the top of the card are snow topped mountains. As the card progresses down in tiers you can see 5 waterfalls flowing into the same pool. From this pool, one single waterfall flows into a river that winds through a valley. Five gnomish men stand (split) beside the river.

The vibe I get from this card is that of ‘pooling resources’. I feel like you’re expecting yourself to pull your resources together to be able to make a pending decision in the future. You assessing the state of this current or pending decision, defining what it is you want to take with you and what to leave behind. But, like the men in the picture, you may be divided right now in what exactly your expectations are for the future. This would relate back to the 5 and being in transition.

2 - What is expected from you? Ace of Chalices

A woman crouches within a bottle, watching as a dove flies away. The symbol of Venus is beside her.

This image very much reminds me of a genie in a bottle. Are you expected to fulfill other peoples wishes and desires, while you watch your own hopes and dreams fly away? Such a loving card is giving me such an icky feeling - it’s quite uncomfortable , which is precisely how I see the position in which this woman is standing - not even standing, but stooping, like she’s unable to stand up to her full height because the bottle is so confining. I don’t think that you like very much the position you’ve been put in by others.

3 - What do you expect from others? Wheel of Fortune

An older woman with silver hair stands on a shoreline. Water is behind her and earth beneath her feet. A pile of rocks is at her feet and she’s gazing down at it. Behind her is a wheel with spokes inside it (like a carriage wheel).

The way this woman is holding her arms and hands (outwards from her sides), it’s like she’s saying “Back off, this is my gamble to take!” (an image of Sammity-Sam and those mudflaps on trucks come to mind - Back Off!! ) So it seems like you expect others to take a back seat and let you figure this one out by yourself. Clearly with the Wheel showing up in the reading, things are definitely changing in your world, and outside opinions from your loved ones might not be welcome at the moment. Perhaps they’re being too biased and speaking in their own interests instead of yours?

4 - What is working against you? Death

A woman is kneeling outside, is she in a blue nightgown? It appears so. In front of her is a crystal ball. To one side of her is a sleeping cat. At her other side is a pumpkin. Behind her are wraiths, the Grim Reaper, faces with mouths open like they’re howling, and a pink full moon. Whoa. The woman does not seem concerned by what is going on behind her. Instead, she is looking straight head, and is actually smirking.

Ahhh…. Well, perhaps you should be listening a little bit to what’s being said to you by those loved ones of yours after all. This isn’t to mean that you need to take their advice, but there might be a clue in something being said to you that will guide you forward and help you make that decision or transition. This card also has a very ‘Halloweeny’ ‘Octobery’ feel to it, does that relate at all to what’s going on? It feels like a deadline, and that too, might be working against you.

5 - What is working for you? 8 of Pentacles

In this card, birds are perched in trees. There are many different types of birds, and several are building nests. Those little gnomes that represent the suit are also in the treetops, navigating the braches with ease.

The feel with this card is that you have a lot of talent with multi-tasking. You can do the tight rope dancing trick while chewing gum and knitting a sweater! Someone is going to notice this and place great value in it. They see you as a capable ‘nest builder’ that will get the job done, and done well.

6 - What is your potential? 4 of Chalices

In the center of a courtyard is a woman who is holding fire in one hand (and this hand is held above her head) and a cup in her other (held at her side). She is gazing at the hand with fire. Behind her is a fountain, with a wrought iron molding in the shape of two halves of a heart coming together. Slyphs play in the pool of water. Behind the fountain is a tree bearing fruit (apples?) and serpents climbing the trunk of the tree. Very garden of Eden-esque. The sun is also rising.

The potential of this transition is all in your hands. Guides are there to assist you, but ultimately the fruit born from this.. Err.. *project* for lack of better terms, will be of your own making. Keep in mind with this card, the fire in her hand, her inner passion and her goal, is not burning her. She holds it aloft. It is worth pursuing.

Some added thoughts: I feel compelled to mention a few insights with this draw, that come to me when I look at the cards without specific questions.

It seems like this transition or re-birth cycle has played itself out a couple of times for you in the past. This isn’t something new, but an old project or problem, I get this from the Wheel/Death pairing being side by side here. With the 4/chalices directly above these cards too, the fire in one hand aligns with the Wheel (fire) and Death (water) below, with the Wheel taking precedence. To me this says that the transformation is necessary, and is front and center in your life right now. It’s pretty important that you get it right this time. Moving up from the cards, I see the Ace/Chalices on one side, and the 8/pentacles on the other. Are you trying to balance love/work in your life right now? With the 5/pentacles imagery above it all, and the idea of ‘pooling resources’ it may very well be pointing towards ‘balancing home and work life’ instead.

Feedback will be very helpful here! Looking forward to it!

PS. Sorry I don't have images of these cards. I did *try* to take pictures, and can email what I've got to the sitter if they would like to see them. I can't post them up here unfortunately!

1. I can see the 'pooling resources'. There's a couple of big decisions coming up that are going to affect the future. My decision has to be based on the outcome I can live with. I also like the 5. Most of who I am is wrapped up in my family and there's 5 of them.

2. My first thought here was to argue that I've put myself in this position. But no, just maybe it was a mutual thing. It is uncomfortable. I don't regret devoting myself to my family. But I thought I had done a good enough job that now I could have some time for me.

After some more thought, this could be pointing to a specific set of circumstances. It is icky. Even though I'm mom, there's still some things I can't or even shouldn't fix for others.

3. At first, I thought this reading was about me, personally. Now, I see its about one of those pending decisions/situations going on. Yeah, loved ones all have an opinion on this. But, ultimately, I try and think about the best decision for the family as a whole for the future. They're looking at the best decision for themself at the present moment.

4. I can see the listening part. It is hard to separate the 'truths' from the self-serving comments. But Halloweeny, Octobery feeling shouldn't play a part in it. I'll know more in about 3 weeks.

5. I don't see how this relates at all. But things may change.

6. I know. It's been up to me all along. That doesn't make it easy.

Yes, you're completely right. This transformation is necessary and needed. The pressure I've put on myself to make sure I've got it right is most of my stress at the moment. Yes, others have played a part in it but ultimately, I control my actions and reactions.

I'm not actually 'working' so I don't see myself trying to balance home and work. At least not just yet. Once the other big stuff is taken care of then I can concentrate on finding work.
