Noun, verb, adverb - one sentence reading train
I am looking to really explore this possibility, having read briefly about it in a newly released tarot book by Marcus Katz called "Around the Tarot in 78 Days" Briefly, he explains how the Major card can be the noun, the Minor card the verb, and the court card the adverb. I also throw in adjective in case that is more appropriate. I guess in summary (using his example) Cat = noun, sat = verb, quietly = adverb. So.... Now carrying this over to the cards. Well, I have created a spread sheet, and if you look at all possible permuations we have: 14,080. YIKES!!! (And don't even get me started on how many there could be if one, two or three of each card were reversed etc. It gets too mind boggling). Not sure we can cover all 14,080 permutations but heck we can try (would it make for a worthwhile book??)So, to start off I will choose one combination, post my take on it, then choose 3 more for the next person to give one sentence for. They then choose 3 more cards and post those for the next person, and so on. As long as you have a link to nouns, adverbs, etc somehow it will be fine. Combination of: Queen swords / 5 wands / Hanged Man. "CONFRONTING AN ISSUE OR CHALLENGE OBJECTIVELY MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL SACRIFICE BEING MADE" Cards for next taker: Page swords / 4 cups / Temperance. __________________ Life is like a box of chocolates: you never know what you will get but hope it isn't going to be the coffee cream! |

The clumsy Yogi meditates. Clumsy = page of swords Yogi = Temperance Meditates = 4 of cups ... Not sure if I did that right - but I kinda like it. I like using the court card as an adjective/adverb, and not the subject... Hmmm... EDIT: I forgot to post new cards. 2 of swords / King of Pentacles / Star __________________ "In a gentle way, you can shake the world" -Gandhi Nosce te ipsum - Know Thyself |

Don't lose hope (The Star) when it comes to facing a difficult decision (2 of Swords) just deal with it practically and pragmatically (King of Pentacles) instead of emotionally. New cards: The Fool : Queen of Cups : 4 of Wands BTW: The book is excellent - with LOTS of activities and exercises...highly recommended. |

The Fool : Queen of Cups : 4 of Wands So glad to see a couple have jumped in to give this a go. Two really good summaries there. So, for these three you could have: "MAKE MOVES TO EMBRACE THE FREEDOM AND SPIRIT OF LIKE-MINDED COMPANY, TAKING THE RISK TO UNCONDITIONALLY OPEN YOUR HEART CHAKRA TO THEIR ENERGIES" As an aside, I have used this one sentence finisher for recent readings, and I found it so enlightening. Davina Oh - next trio: Hermit / 7 swords / knight coins __________________ Life is like a box of chocolates: you never know what you will get but hope it isn't going to be the coffee cream! |

The wise person makes his stealthy move in good time and with due consideration. Next trio: Page of Swords / Empress / 7 of Cups (Are we making these up or doing draws? Because the actual cards I drew were Page of Swords / 7 of Cups / King of Wands, but I changed it to have one major, one pip, one court). __________________ One Deck Wonder - Tarot of the Sidhe and Froud Faeries' Oracle - Beltane to Summer Solstice 2013 Last edited by Carla; 23-04-2012 at 17:05. |

The harsh boss will overburden the feeble-hearted. Next: Hierophant / Three of Wands / Page of Wands ETA: Btw, I shuffle and draw one by one card until I get to the card needed. Is this ok? __________________ Datta. Dayadhvam. Damyata. |
