amulet dream
I dreamt I was wearing a beautiful long necklace with beads and something like an amulet at the end. the whole set-up reminded me of a rosary, but it was definitely not Christian. The little amulet reminded me of a traditional African artefact. I had got it in a junk shop for next to nothing, but someone in the dream said it was valuable as it had probably been made by Pablo Picasso. Two things come to mind: 1) This is a reference to my own artwork. 2) It's a reference to a ring I bought two days ago. It's a cameo ring, and I bought it for its beauty, not its market value. That feeling of enjoyment of jewellery as an art object reminded me of the feeling I had about the necklace in the dream. As it's an amulet, it has obvious spiritual connotations. I see the world of art and spirituality coming together here, but would appreciate others' thoughts. |

I remembered you had had a dream awhile back about another necklace (" Dragon necklace ") went to find it, and saw that there was also another about pearls and rings, and perhaps more ? I don't think I've ever dreamt about jewellery, so find it interesting that you do , and wandered if you can find some connection here between all these dreams, or what was happening in the real world at the time . I get the sense that there might be a single catalyst? As to this dream, it seems that a commonality with amulets and rosaries is their ability to protect the wearer ? You didn't say, but did you want to protect the necklace because of it's provenance? ( In which case something which protects you, but also needs protecting ) And interesting that something of such worth had been hidden from view in a junk shop. Is this about discovering something of value in an unlikely place ? (Or if the person in the shop were lying, someone trying to get you to believe such.) No real answers just a few thoughts ! It was the enjoyment and the beauty of the necklace that was foregrounded in the dream, at least in the way I related to it. But I had the same feeling about the dragon necklace. I really have no idea what it could mean. I like jewellery in real life, that's why I treated myself to that ring the other day. |

Ok, but you also felt that the dragon necklace was like a rosary ? I think there's something more here , tho I've no idea what that might be. |

You're right, but I can't put my finger on it either. In real life I fear I may have lost something that I valued greatly, but in the dream there was no fear. Maybe the dream was trying to put my mind at rest? |

If beauty and enjoyment were the primary feeling I would go with that as the central meaning. If the amulet were for protection, maybe it is saying you are using the comfort of beauty and enjoyment to protect you from something? (as in distracting yourself from some thing you fear or worry about). If someone mentioned piccaso, then maybe something abstract; an abstract worry. Kind of burying your head in the sand. Do you worry that you shouldn't spend money on jewellery, like the ring you bought? |

I think that after the amulet itself, the next most striking detail from your dream is the fact that you didn't ascribe much value (monetary value in the dream, and possibly also more metaphorical value in the bigger picture as to what the amulet represents...?), but someone else said it could be worth a huge sum. My thought was that maybe you have something -- a possession maybe, but I think more likely a quality, a characteristic, an achievement -- that you haven't necessarily valued all that much for whatever reasons, but others have disagreed...and maybe you're grappling with acceptance of the possibility that their view is actually closer to the truth than your own? Are you possibly overly humble about yourself, and/or prone to self-doubts and such? Maybe you're making some internal strides against these things, and the dream reflects this? I don't think you said what it is in real life that you valued greatly but fear you may have lost, but to be honest, the main gist of what I got from reading your descritpion of the dream didn't seem to imply anything about a fear of having lost something...? Not that I'm any kind of expert on dream analysis!! Just a few from-the-hip reactions for you to consider, is all... |
