Wierd Energy from New Stone

Long story short: Bought an amethyst from the store along with a smoky quartz. It had this wierd prickly energy that made me curious and since it was my second stone purchase ever I opted to bring it home. Why not, right?

Since then, I'm not sure what to make of this stone. It has caused weird sensations in my palm and radiates outward from there- whether it's held in the fingers or palm doesn't matter. The following has occurred on 3 separate days: deep cooling/burning sensation (sometimes lingering!) beneath just the skin, prickle, stabbing pain (through middle of palm), and numbness.

WHAT is going on? It's a gorgeous stone, absolutely gorgeous, and I really am hesitant about whether to use it for anything at all or try to make a pendulum out of it or utilize it in some other fashion. My smoky quartz does not do anything like this in my palm, nor does my citrine. They're all relatively small pieces. Any ideas?

i think from what i read they now call thats a brandenburg, and is meant to be very powerful.

how do you feel with the crystal, is the feeling horrible? or interesting? because if it feels frightening then cleanse it, but it might be the crystal saying hello and showing you its power and what it can do for you

I would say work with it a bit, put it in your pocket and carry it around a bit...see what happens! If it is awesomely powerful for you, then you can buy a little silver wire crystal "cage" and make it into a pendant...if it bothers you immensely, you can always trade it back at the store where you got it.

it sounds fascinating, I'd love to find such an amythest!

ETA: I got curious, so i went looking fro a Brandenburg. I clipped this description of Brandenburg amethysts from Neatstuff/Avalon/info:

"Igneous formation. Brandenburgs occur in Amygdules. Amygdules start off life as a gaseous fluid bubble in the super hot basaltic lave (900c-1000c), which upon cooling crystallize in the form of a geode. These geodes often carry what is referred to as window quartz. These are actually 'hopper' crystals where crystallization from a super-saturated solution progressed so rapidly that it concentrated along the edges of crystal planes with virtually no deposits on the center of the developing crystal faces, resulting in a skeletal crystal. These can be described as looking like a set of windows one stacked upon the other. Occasionally a renewed charge of super saturate solution will renew the growth of the crystal, resulting in the airtight trapping of the fluid and gas within the crystal, which when cooled contracts, displaying a distinct moving gas bubble in the solid crystal. Hematite, sand, and clay may also be included in these crystals.

Clusters, Double terminated, amethyst, smoky, and scepters are all found at this locality.

Numerology- The Brandenburg Crystal vibrates to the number 7. The number seven is about wisdom and faith. Seven is the symbol for magic, mystery and ceremony.

Gemological Properties- This Crystal in essence is an amethyst crystal. Quartz is a group of mineral species which is from the hexagonal (trigonal) crystal system. The chemical composition is SIO2, refractive index is 1.544-1.553 with a specific gravity of 2.66. "


So, if your amethyst looks like you are looking through a stack of windows, then I guess that's what you have!

I hope I'm using the right terminology here- this stone has this purple to an almost berry color with inclusions. The stone is translucent throughout. Like I said, I love the way it looks but it's only about an inch in size.

I'm not afraid, no- but it did kind of startle me when my hand went NUMB and I was like "what the heck?". I took it to work and rolled it around in my hand again. Seemingly fine once warmed up. Right now I popped it on my palm and it feels... like I can still feel it in my palm, even though I've moved it off and am typing. It's been off for 2 minutes and I can still pretty much feel where it was. Like it's leaving an impression in my hand but it certainly isn't of a size where that's even possible. Is this making sense?! I find myself at a loss for a proper way to describe it aside from this.

On a downer note, the store I got it at will not accept returns of any sort, so once I buy it I'm stuck with it.

Well...you could pass it to someone else, or quietly bury it somewhere, if you do not like it...sorry the store won't take it back!

But it really sounds to me like the stone just really resonates with you. It is trying to work with you, sort of like a genii - it is awaiting your command, non?

Some stones have more power than many others. It depends where it came from, and who cut it, and all the rest. Stones are like people - only very occasionally do you meet one who is truly powerful and just being a little stone, that makes it all the better, IMO! It is tiny, but it is ready to take on the world! I have a few pieces of jewellery like that. And I have *tons* of crystal and gemstone jewellery - but only a few pieces resonate like how your stone does with you.

And here is the thing, every crystal, much like every human, has their own voice.
So no two pieces speak the same way.

Also, it is my belief that the right stone picks you, and not the other way around...

Um...as I have not seen a Brandenburg (was just looking it up, because Red made me curious) I can only guess - but yes, it kind of looks as described, doesn't it? Like stacked windows or outlines...I wll have to do more research on the matter before I can say anything substantial, though! Because your phantom only looks like it has one window inside, and I do not currently know much more than I posted about the Brandenburg.

In any case, if your small amethyst is powerful enough to be the little workhorse it seems to want to be, by all means, give it the range and see what it can do! maybe try meditating with it...?
